We called to make a reservation for the lunch but the lady owner Mamen answered: they DO NOT make reservations. So we showed up early. The place is small and was empty at that time . Altho she said to Us: SORRY ITS ALL RESERVED !! I thought she was making a joke, BUT WASN 'T... SERIOUSLY ????, are you mocking on Us ? We had a BAD argue, not very happy, she gave us a table to sit . The 2nd time we repeat the visit to the place just BC the FOOD is really delicious, but she remembered well the argue we had, and left US waiting for over 1;15 hr . and ADD : If you don 't like it ... thats the door So, SHE had a terrible attitude; but Pau her husband, cooks GREAT! so if You can deal with a lady ow...
This was our second visit. The bar is really popular with locals and is a really cool place for a more trendy evening out in Benicarló. The tapas are generally good, we picked one dish that was really over salted, but all other tapas was great. Desserts (mousses are a lovely way to end the meal. Wines are very good and service is great. To compare with other local tapas wine, it's not standout, and it's more expensive but I suppose that is because it's really well designed and more similar to the kind of place you'd find in a bigger, more modern town. All in all Xixo is well worth a visit (or two! . Will be back!
In my first visit to what it was Pau's Restaurant, I enjoyed a diverse meal with friends. We had 6 tapas for 4 friends. What at the beginning appeared to be a light meal ended being a turn of the typical Spanish dishes. Everything cooked to surprise the most delicate palate. Pau restaurant has really made a different around this area with the opening of this little bar. Great choice for a evening meal!
We asked for four dishes to share and I don't know what we have. Even my three-year-old daughter ate everything we asked for. to repeat without hesitation. Thank you so much!
