While Cajun cuisine isn't typically my first choice, I discovered Yats online and noticed its excellent reviews, so we decided to give it a try for lunch. I'm really glad we did! When I explained to the person at the counter that I wasn't familiar with Cajun food, he took the time to walk me through the menu, describing the flavors of each dish in detail. He even offered to swap out our meals if we weren't satisfied with our choices. My husband and I opted for the half-and-half option, which allowed us to sample four different dishes, and we were pleased with all of them! My favorite was the Drunken Chicken, while my husband loved the Marq Quox Chicken. The staff member even made a point to...

A hidden gem in Franklin, TN! This small storefront offers decent parking. Upon entering the dining area, we discovered counter service with a call-out window featuring a rotating Cajun menu. Options include jambalaya, gumbo, and chicken macque choux, with the choice of a half plate, full plate, or a combination of both. The gumbo was generous in portion but tasted mildly spiced. They offer an array of hot sauces to customize the heat, and the prices are all-inclusive of taxes. Here’s my breakdown: the friendly staff earns +1 star; straightforward pricing adds another +1 star; generous portions bring in a +1 star; the delicious food (though I’d prefer a bit more spice) earns +1 star; and of...

This is honestly the best gumbo restaurant I've ever visited. I'm not usually a fan of gumbo because I find the roux tends to have a burnt taste, but this place has completely changed my perspective! Brad, our host, was very professional and incredibly helpful in guiding us on what to order. He even prepared a sample plate for my partner and me to try. Overall, I loved the friendly, homey atmosphere. The professionalism and assistance we received were outstanding. And the flavor was simply the best I've ever experienced—so delicious! The prices were also unexpectedly reasonable. We'll definitely be returning! Book a table now

One of my favorite places to eat in the Franklin area is Yats, which I've been visiting regularly for a while now, thanks to a friend who introduced me to it! The flavors of their food are fantastic; it's authentic New Orleans-style Cajun cuisine. I usually order the half-and-half plate, and I highly recommend trying the Chicken Maque Choux and the Chili Cheese.

I absolutely loved the vegetarian and vegan options! The staff is incredibly friendly. The New Orleans-style food is delicious and really reminded us of NOLA! (Thanks for the great Mardi Gras atmosphere!) I hope you can also add po-boys to the menu!
