The conclusion in advance (for those who don't want to read that much): -Service seems untrained and not capable (but at least friendly)- Taste is not good, sometimes not authentic (e.g. salad only drowned in oil)- Banquet not! Recommended (I'm still sad about my money!!!) - Honest criticism is not adequately responded to.>> We've been traveling through Australia for 4 weeks now and have visited a number of restaurants, but today's experience is one of the absolute worst the fourth we wanted to order the banquet. But since two people have a seafood allergy, we wanted to know in advance whether we could replace the prawns, calamari and fish with something else at the banquet. The friendly but...

We were looking forward to a Greek evening and got a potpourri of disappointing trivia. Yayas is lucky to have no less than one star on TripAdvisor. We ordered the banquet for 4 ($45 per person) with a request to accommodate 2 people's seafood allergies. This request alone seemed to have been too much of a demand. We were then asked several times if we really wanted the banquet (perhaps that should have been a sign). Food: Bread (surprisingly no pita) and the dips were still ok. But then the descent began. The Greek salad with a piece of feta the size of a postage stamp for 4 people is as far away from Greece as Australia itself. The braised lamb was reminiscent of overly acidic leftovers (m...

We had the 2 person share plate. The entree was served with a loaf of bread (where's the pita??), the mains were nice and desserts were not too sweet which was good. The serves were BIG. The venue is nice and well themed. The views are awesome. Sadly the service was completely lacking. Drinks weren't refilled without being asked while sitting at the edge of the table and the staff didn't appear that friendly. Even while taking our payment we weren't asked "how was ur meal?" Seems odd but sadly true. Customer service is everything!

We had a wonderful meal at Yaya's. It was great to read a menu that provided many choices of meals that were in the Greek style. The vegetation options I chose were full of fresh ingredients presented in a tasty Mediterranean style. My husband's fish meal was large and he enjoyed it all. The service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being upstairs for the view and a little away from the noisy street below. Book a table now

We were a group of 6 and after they took our order the food ages to appear. We were hungry expecting the usual generous serves you get in all Greek restaurants. The entrees were minuscule and very overpriced. Meat and Moussaka were not nice and dips were minute as was the bread. We ordered to share and we got "one" spoonful of each dish. Very expensive and bad service. Won't go back.

It was great - right from the first greeting on street level. We wanted a table on the balcony with no booking so we started with a drink on the comfortable sofa and waited. I can say it was well worth it! The sharing banquet was perfect. The food fabulous and the service funny and helpful. All in all a great night - perfect! Thank you!

Coming from a greek background we know about greek food. This place was absolutely terrible. Meat was very bland with no flavour. Pita bread was thin packet bread and not authentic at all. No dressing on our souvlaki salad. We had to ask for salt and pepper! No organo! Very dissapointed also considering its very pricey. Do not go here

The restaurant is upstairs with a balcony overlooking the esplanade and seafront. The food we ordered (souvlaki, salads, dessert) was all freshly made and really good. We especially liked the zucchini chips with tzadziki and baklava ice cream. The staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely recommended. Book a table now

We had the $45 banquet for 2. The first courses were so good we over did it and had to have a break before the mains! The mains and deserts were also delicious and fresh. The slow cooked lamb was melt in your mouth. Recommend for a great dinner in a great location
