The food and service are good. This is the loudest small restaurant/bar in the universe. Have you ever wanted to hear the opinions of a Facebook/fox News mom that read part of a headline from across the bar? Do you need to learn about how the economy is ending because Truman got us off the gold standard in the 70s? Are you worried about the moon escaping the orbit of the earth? Then come on down to the York Tavern and listen to plastic surgery Bethany preach! For real this place is way too loud.
York Tavern is one of those popular neighborhood spots with folks you get to know and remember for decades (considering this place is almost 200 years old! the pizza is delicious, pasta is ottimo, and burgers are the talk of the town… Every time I’ve been has been busier than the last it’s packed even on weeknights and the fact you can hear graue mill along the outdoor patio makes just adds to the charm Don’t miss this Chicagoland gem!
After browsing pictures of the food online, I decided to check out this restaurant. It has a charming, rustic ambiance and several televisions displaying sports programs. I went during lunch, and the atmosphere was relatively calm. The staff were very welcoming and offered great menu suggestions. I ordered the burger and fries, which were quite satisfying. I will definitely come back to sample the meatball sandwich and pizza.
This is a small cozy place with good food. I was told to get the burger here because it's the best. Spoiler: someone in my life definitely over hyped a standard burger. The calamari appetizer was great definitely order this if you like the onion ring of the sea. Only negative is that it gets very loud inside. Sit outside if the weather is cooperative so that you can converse with your table mates.

I didn't visit this restaurant during its earlier days, but I happened to be in the area and was delighted to stop by. It's a charming little spot nestled by the stream near Graue Mill. They offer a fantastic selection of ice-cold craft beers, along with a great variety of burgers, pizzas, soups, salads, and tasty sandwiches. The staff is also friendly and efficient!
They have AMAZING BURGERS! I stopped by for lunch and unexpectedly spotted Curious George munching on a churro at the bar! While I was enjoying my burger, Curious George came charging at me with a churro in hand, and the manager rushed in to rescue me from the crazed monkey! Excellent service!
Old landmark near Fullersburg Woods and Graue Mill. Delightful open air terrace, and homey inside dining in a non-franchise alternative.
The food was fantastic, and the service was outstanding. Although it's a very small restaurant, it didn't seem crowded at all.
