We wanted to try something new and were recommended this restaurant. It was my children's first experience with Indian food and my 10 year old is really picky. The ambiance is comforting and inviting, clean deco, classical covers of pop music playing in the background. Very friendly and warm service. And the food... Wow! What a delicious surprise! My son went the safe route and ordered a Naan Chicken Wrap. It is so good my daughter is going back to have it for lunch! The Samosas are very tasty and not greasy. The Fish Pakora is delicious! The Zaika sauce is fabulous. The Chicken Butter Masala (medium spice), the Lamb Korma (mild), and the Beef Korma (hot) are THE BEST I've ever had. The rice...

First Impression: Clean. You can tell that the staff and kitchen pay attention to cleanliness and detail. I have been to many Indian restaurants in Montreal and Zaika is by far my favorite. It has a modern interior so if you are going for a traditional cultural experience (Sitting on the floor, Indian flair, Indian music, etc.) this place is not necessarily for you. Staff: Extremely friendly, attentive and have a good knowledge of the menu. Their recommendations were great. Food: I am not one to write reviews for restaurants. However, the food was so tasty that I simply had to. I have been to the restaurant half a dozen times now and can say that I must have tried about half the menu. There...
some friends for dinner here based on good reviews, gluten-free and vegetarian options. all ordered at medium level. had sweetsepakora and fried okra as starter, then alloo-rolls, baingan bharta, mixed daal and butter huhn together with naan and rice. the courts were all quite boring, not strong aromen, and nothing in all spicy. Maybe we should go for the “hot” instead of medium option to get more intense aromen, or we ordered the wrong dishes. but without any of the dishes being very interesting or unique, I cannot recommend this place.
We stumbled upon Zaika as we were walking around the Plateau neighborhood, and we decided to give it a try. The food was delicious, tasted so fresh, you could tell things were prepared as your ordered. The naan was so soft -- not rubbery like in so many restaurants. I'm vegetarian so I can only comment on that but my friends who ate the meat dishes said they were really good as well. Friendly staff as well. Would go back if we're in the neighborhood again! Wow! What a great dinner I had at Zaika. I was walking through the Plateau the other day and had heard great things so I decided to give it a try. Definitely was not disappointed! I had the chicken wrap and was blown away! The na'an felt like it had just come out of the oven. All in all, would definitely recommend to a friend. It's extremely well-priced and you can leave feeling full for 10$ (or less!)
Such a nice Space! Trendy and intimate! I used a friends recommendation and I was not disappointed. Lots of vegetarian options... I ordered the butter chicken and it was phenomenal! Extremely moist and I was able to customize the sauce for a Spicer version. The service was on point and staff were friendly and helpful with menu options. I will most definitely be back!
great tasting eating, restaurant was freezing so eating came cold. the beginnings of the meat were dry and cooked over. vegetarian options delicious. service was friendly, but slow, forgetful and inattentive. curries were the best tasting curry I had in Canada. pros and cons. Overall, due to cold straightened, slow service and dry meat starter would not recommend.
eating was very good. obviously from scratches in a way that is rare for Indian restaurants. butter huh was overly sweet, more like a tikka masala. the seasoned were very low, even at the so-called spicy level. Please note that this is a BYO restaurant. there is a fleet store 1 block away. decor is minimal. try it worth. Book a table now
