The food was good, but the restaurant itself was quite unpleasant. It really could use some remodeling, a thorough cleaning, and the air conditioning needs to be fixed as it wasn't functioning properly. Additionally, there was a young man outside the restaurant who appeared to be under the influence and was using drugs at a table. The staff didn't ask him to leave for about 30 minutes, and they neglected to clean the table after he left. Just thinking about the fact that people were eating at that table made me feel nauseated. I don't think I'll return to this location.
This restaurant was a letdown, and that's the worst feeling. The chicken was incredibly dry, just like the lackluster service from the staff, who appeared indifferent and unresponsive. It seemed like we were given food that had been sitting around for too long. To make matters worse, they wouldn't even consider giving us a simple refund! We usually enjoy Zankou, but this location didn't meet our expectations. If you're seeking a better dining experience, I recommend going to Pasadena or Anaheim instead.
I usually dine at the Zankou Chicken in Pasadena, so I know the food is great there. However, since the Montebello location is closer to me, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same experience. My family and I were quite disappointed. The food took a long time to arrive and was served cold. We also had to wait longer than expected. I'm not sure if the staff was having an off night, but I'm willing to give this location another chance. I hope my next visit is an improvement.
This place is the definition of ghetto. The chicken was as dry as the attitude of the staff. From the employees to the managers, expect to be disappointed. They served us what tasted like old food, and their chicken was extremely dry. They couldn't even provide a simple refund! We love Zankou, but definitely not this location. I recommend staying away from here and consider going to Pasadena or Anaheim instead.

A solid representation of Zankou Chicken which is one of my favorite rotisserie chicken restaurants. I just ordered a half chicken rotisserie plate with salad and hummus. It was delicious and cooked perfectly, just like all the other Zankou spots I’ve been to. Id definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items.
I did not get a good vibe there. Not friendly until their own personal friend and family arrived. The place does not compare to their Pasadena location. Kabobs were goods as well as falafel. Garlic sauce is very nice too. I do not recommend their beef sawarma. The portion size is large, but the meat is very dry.
For the past 23 years, we’ve been happily traveling from Anaheim to Burbank, Montebello, and Hollywood just to dine at this restaurant. My kids absolutely adore it, and you can’t go wrong with any dish on the menu. The shawarma, tarna, whole chicken, and kababs are all incredible!
5 star experience. The food was amazing and great customer service. Will definitely return to their chain when back in the area.
