If in Rio, one must go to Zaza for lunch or dinner. This place has such wonderful food served in a nice cozy environment that it leave you smiling the whole day. Their only problem is that they don't take reservations on phone. So if you are really interested in eating here, arrive before time, wait for your table while you sip drinks and then have your meal. We went twice and both times our experience was pretty good. What did we order: Covert basket (basically a mix bag of chips, crisps, bread etc) served with wasabi mayo and veggie fingers: This is an excellent starter. All right! the reference restaurant on the river. we start by asking the couvert (diversified, light and fun with a nice mix of sticks), we proceed to absolutely must-see entrance of lamb croquets (good also)! and we chose the amazing and tasty handmade pasta of betteraba (very well seasoned is presented) and a delicious and fresh dish of the day (which was not in the menu) of rice with octopus and shrimp. We stopped here for an early dinner as it was close to our hotel. The menu was well-marked and the server who helped us seemed knowledgeable of allergies. I tried the tapioca croquettes, tartare and grilled veggies. The server confirmed that the croquettes were fried in a separate fryer from the other breaded items. The grilled veggies were my favorite. I also tried the deli Thai tapioca pudding dessert. I loved that the sweetness only came from the mango. I felt very full, but not (symptomatically) sick, afterwards.
this place is worth waiting! wow was eating well. small corner that offers a seating area in the free when they have to wait for a table in the inner. they even serve eating and drinks outside while they wait. we had no reservations and were told that this would take an hour. it really went fast with a few drinks and people watching on the road. ambiente is cozy. her thunfish shell is one must. our waiter spoke a bit English, making the dinge easier. would be highly recommended to try and wait if it had to be. The best restaurant in rio. It's a good restaurant especially for the tourists. If you have been to sassy spoon in Mumbai, this is rios answer to sassy spoon. Its a cute little restaurant with great cocktail. Food caters to international audience and I am assuming it's a unique restaurant for the locals as well because two star hotels as well as a local friend suggested this restaurant to me. Staff is lovely. Always smiling and courteous.

Not dedicated gluten free. Menu marked but not a lot of GF options. However they were super friendly and helpful modifying other dishes to be GF. Very tasty. Cool ambiance.
