in sydney for the weekend (e.g. the inhabitants who get our sydney fix) we had breakfast at zinc as we had lived in potts point many years ago. great location and eating was good, like the coffee and reasonable price, the surprise. was the unbelievably handy and casual attitude of the young waiter who served us. we were initially in a great mood when we were so happy to be back in sydney, but the attitude of the waiter really brought this back. had the rest of the breakfast in la bomba in the challis avenue, where the great service was suitable for eating and coffee.

The manager has no sense of empathy, no making things better only to attack on approach. What this man has shown so far is abusive, discriminatory to me, people with my condition and people with conditions in general. Unfortunately he is a cafe owner so...he must be fit to suit all kinds, not just those of his choosing! To no one, it is okay to retaliate with anger. To retaliate to the people who are working to support you is a crime, not just by law but by nature of morality.

Just another cafe but what was more disappointing was poor service. It was conveniently located (opposite Macleay Hotel) but it was a new building with little charm or atmosphere that you find elsewhere in the area. Had to ask several times for service, eventually just...had coffee and went to Fratelli for food. A plus is both indoor and outside dining, i.e it is pet friendly which is important in the Potts Point area as it is poodle capital of the world.

My receipt clearly states that the restaurant is the ZINC BAR, at 77 Macleay Street in Potts Point, but Trip Advisor calls it the Zinc Cafe. Oh well, the important thing is that this is a reasonably priced restaurant in the expensive end of Potts...Point. We went there twice, and enjoyed the sandwiches, tuna, sausage, bacon, and coffee. Friendly, laid-back service. Can be cool outside in late September. Book a table now

I came here with a colleague for a business meeting. The critical success factor for any coffee shop is the service provided by the staff. Unfortunately they didn't get our order correct and although they corrected teh error there was no apology or any dialogue...whatsoever. This is problematic of using travellers as wait staff and is not a good idea for maintaining reputation.

it's been a past since I got through so arrogant and priggish waitress. the waiters don't hear, get the order wrong, and have no understanding of the words, berry or 'does it offend me' or 'can I help them? "I was in this caffe. in half dozens and today will be my last time. their prices rise and their services fall. zink cafe is not a nice place to be!

This delightful cafe has the magic formula all worked out friendly staff, great food, great coffee, fabulous service. I had brunch here with my husband and a close friend and it won’t be my last visit. I had the toast with ricotta tomatoes and...basil. Beautiful simplicity....yum. Do yourself a favour and try it some time.

Random stop for coffee and a bite to eat was a little above the other cafes in the area. Staff were efficient and pleasant, The menu is hard to read and fairly basic (eg eggs without sides) Location has a West Village NYC vibe to...it and relaxing.
