Zoko Moko - Table reservation

We arrived with a reservation we had called, left a message and they called us back the next day; Very correct and very polite too. The restaurant, owned by a father daughter team and the daughter is supposed to take it over soon is very well known in many French dining and travel guides; And rightfully so! We ordered two main courses the menu itself is not huge, but more than sufficient for us. Before we nibbled on a shared appetizer. Well if you want a place to visit for lunch, in the beautiful town of San Jean De Luz, then you should avoid the tourist traps and book a table at Zoko Moto. My daughter Sophie was keen to visit when she was last here but couldn’t get a table due to its popularity. Her recommendation however was a big success for us. A truly wonderful experience. The staff were hugely professional and also delightful. The short menu was perfect and tres facile, we were all able to order the same dishes. From the decor to the service and each and every bite, this restaurant is beyond words. The servers had energy on all levels, and were deservedly proud of what they are doing to make this an exceptional dining experience. Each dish was presented not only artistically, but delicious and varied in textures. The price was indeed reasonable in light of the exceptional cuisine. My only regret is that we are visiting and cannot enjoy this amazing restaurant on a regular basis.

Did we look too simple for your place? I never experienced anything like this before! We passed by with our family and asked for a table for 4. There were at least 3 free tables without reservation signs. We were told there was no more space although 2 seconds before us and 2 seconds after us, other people without reservation were given a seat. Shame your soul is much less beautiful than the pictures of the food…

Fantastic food. Great friendly and smiling service. Very good value for money. Building and dining room are beautiful old stone. Just a really great experience.
