I will never say that the largest and most beautiful of the East Frisian is a lucullic paradies. but no one has to starve here.Leiders have my favorite - for 20 years also infected by the Borkum-Bazillus - and I discovered and checked the cozy gas house "to kaap" only four years ago. our two judgements: one of the best places to start if you want to eat and drink something grounded to absolutely correct trips.The unfortunately already past holiday this year has led us in two weeks at least three times to the nice and extremely hospitable people in the kaap am kaap. and ea...
the "to the kaap" will certainly not open up to every visitor on the borkum, but it is off the eating mile and the usual visitor routes. all the more important to point out this locality.We liked the manageable map and the daily changing daily meal. you sit there at least very quietly, the ambiente inside remembers the 70s.Heilbutt and scholle were perfectly roasted, rice or bratkartoffeln impeccable, the small mixed salat was satisfying for the offered price.Everything in all a solid performance, which is well off from the rest of the island. the service was very attentive.We are more often there to host the rest and quality due to
slightly hidden near the beach in the residential area, the restaurant offers seating in the open (covered) as well as in the local (some old-fashioned). we chose seats in the open and were immediately served friendly. a gypsy carving and salad with fish stripes was ordered. served large portions with low waiting time. schnitzel was served with pommes (sperat) and self-made gypsy sauce ) . really delicious. the salat gurke, beans, weeds and tomatoes with yogurtdressing was ok in quality and quantity. the fried fish was very delicious and refined with also fried root vegetables - very tasteful. we're coming back!
good selection of dine, changing day dish. from slightly exotic to traditional. for borkum rare is the selection of small foods, e.g. sausage and cheese cuts. as older couple with enkel and dog the claims are very different. we prefer to dinner light dishes. better sleep. the service is very attentive, empty glasses are quickly detected and filled upon request. It is also remarkable how fast the ordered food is on the table.

the rande of the dunes is hidden a true house of commerce, which is according to Austrian standards. grounded drinks, honest home cooking at high level and rustic decor motivated us to visit another. vulnerability is also to be mentioned as well as hygiene in the sanitation areas. simply recommended as starting point for an evening walk along the beach promenade.
were there on Friday for the first time. very rustic equipment from the 70s, but not ashamed, but rather cozy. the waiter was also very accommodating, which is not self-evident in Eastfriesland )-: it was just delicious. we had the scholle finkenwerder art and the scavenger species.We come back in the next holiday in any case.
very friendly service in pubic atmosphere. the extensive map is probably implemented according to the principle of the pan, up to the table. with fat full-flavoured fish and also fat-triefing roasted potato, with predominantly inlaid salads. this to average trips. not our taste. that's better elsewhere.
