Zur Alten Gerberei

There you are in a beautiful German town in the Pfalzwald region, which shares its history and style with neighbouring Alsace, and this restaurant lies in the heart of the old town. An authentic restaurant and weinstübe, providing good German food. Plus interesting local wines and some devilishly delicious eaux de vie. Certainly popular with German people: Tuesday night and it was fairly full, and we were as far as I could tell the only foreigners in the place. Also wonderfully friendly as our neighbouring table joined in to help me through my struggling menu German. If the main question is, Would you go again? , yes, I certainly would. It was a great evening.

This is my favorite restaurant, family owned and run, friendly and great food. The inside is very nicely decorated and the outside terrace along the water canal and the water wheel in view is just the best place to relax with a glass of Riesling. The best part of this place is that my uncle Norbert Seel is the immediate neighbor to the owners of this restaurant. Ate their many times while visiting and will go back soon... I hope.

We just stopped by during traveling and we wanted to have a good diner. We only took the main course. I had duck from the Christmas menu and it was super! The personel was nice and friendly.

Ate a light dish of flammenkuchen . And drank lots of resonably priced, and good tasting wine. We where served by a helpful waiter and charming waitress. Recommend this place.

not too expencive could be some more best: season offers (for example:asparagus meat with fresh mushrooms wild hog deer)
