Ich muss mir ja hier von so manchen alten Hasen nachsagen lassen, die Lust am Essen, oder zumindest am Schreiben verloren zu haben. Aber das juckt mich nicht. Zu Hause kanns auch ganz gut schmecken. Doch ich selbst war jetzt auch schon mehr als ein halbes Jahr in keinem Lokal mehr, hätte nie gedacht, dass ich es mal wirklich vermisse. Aber zum Glück geht es jetzt wieder aufwärts (wie lange wohl? und gestern bot sich die Gelegenheit zur ersten Einkehr seit ewig langer Zeit. Ein paar Kumpels sind in der Pfingstwoche in die Pfalz zum Wandern gefahren. We ended up in Annweiler on a whim, which is what happens when you potter about in a motorhome. In this delightful old town in the Rhineland Palitinate, which architecturally shares its soul with neighbouring Alsace, we came across this restaurant and weinstübe. A hearty and delicious German cuisine and some excellent local wines and humming with activity for a midweek evening. Plainly popular with German folk, for I think we were the only foreigners there. Very friendly too as our neighbouring table helped with our attempts to decipher the menu. As for the delicious homemade eaux de vie......
we were in the old burials at the time. we enjoyed the evening very tasty freshly prepared food (we had a spatula dish. we sat in the garden directly at the stream, although much operation had not been long wait and the service was very friendly (and very nice!). As a wine lover we also liked the selection of peppers weep, we had decided to have a delicious thorn fields rose. we felt very comfortable and will come back with certainty.
to palatia jazz we spent a week with friends in annweiler. before the concert we were in the old funeral in the beautiful beer garden. eating was very good, fresh ingredients (rumpsteak with pfifferlingen,) attentive friendly service. Price-performance super. a very nice evening! ps: concert was also top!

The restaurant has a very nice and open kitchen, and you can follow a lot that goes around there. We had a very nice main course with a good bottle of wine suggested by the waiter. The evening was lovely and I would suggest this one when you are in the area!
during our short stay we were 3 x in the funeral and were thrilled by the environment, friendliness and of course the delicious food. also from the wine selection we were very impressed so that we visited some wineries directly. absolutely recommended!
