In Boppard, there are only a few restaurants that are very popular among the locals. Zur Alten Schmiede is not one of them, and for a good reason. It serves the basics very well but the problem is, that there is nothing special about the place. In fact, I had to work really hard to remember the place just in order to write this review.

high quality chicken, pommes and salat. freshly tapped and perfectly cooled. very nice host who also enthuses the children.
