"We had dinner last night at Jardin des Saveurs in Amélie-les-Bains, where we also had lunch a month or so ago. It's run by a husband-and-wife team, she in the kitchen, he in the rather old-fashioned dining room. Local specialties: salade catalane, boles de picolat with white beans, home-made apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Simple, reasonable (€19 menu,) reliable, copious, friendly. One of the better places in Amélie, which is, overall, not gastronomic heaven. It's hard to know how to rate restaurants. We give it four stars because it comes very close to fulfilling its admittedly modest role, without pretension of any sort."

"that is more a wineable than a restaurant. at least this is the first impression they get. but order a good quality glass wee for a reasonable price and study their tapas menu. not typical Spanish, but a dish with delicious morsel. all from local products. my wife and I often go there on Saturday morning. We usually order a dozen oysters and hike over les voûtes, where they are very happy to eat the oysters at their tables, provided they order their wine from them. it is on the market to do so many people watching and good wein, beer and tapas."
