I’ve been coming to 158 Main for years because I love the food and the vibe and the servers. I always feel treated well, leave stuffed and happier than when I entered, and Esther is an absolute delight. The homemade maple wheat bread is amazing and certainly deserves its own line of recognition here. However, the person hosting comes up very short in their duties. Most recently, on a late weekday morning while I was happily eating, I saw 4 people (2 separate parties) enter, fail to be greeted or even acknowledged for several minutes, and turn around and walk out. I have personally observed that this individual frequently: is so quiet they are difficult to understand, offers no explanation fo...

Ugh... why can't there be a place like this near where I live? I stopped in here while visiting my friend who lives nearby. I wanted a kind of greasy spoon, diner breakfast... something I hadn't had in a long time. I was so happy to find 158 Main. It fit the bill, cute atmosphere, big portions, attentive service, and down-home cooking. I couldn't believe they had SOS (chipped beef and gravy) on the menu. I've only ever had the frozen version at home. I couldn't order it fast enough and was so so happy I did. The gravy had a deep, great flavor and was in perfect ratio to the toast. The potatoes where nice and crispy and the eggs were seasoned just right. I would 100% be a regular here if I li...
A busy place on a busy ski week-end. So be sure to make a reservation. Typical diner brunch menu. They also have a bakery that shares their kitchen so are not safe for some gluten free folks. They do not offer a Gf bread option at all. I had eggs Benedict on their corned beef hash. I thought the hash was a bit salty but the eggs were cooked perfectly and the Benedict sauce was excellent with lots of lemon flavor. If you are not gluten sensitive the blueberry pancakes look great and you can buy a loaf of bread or cookies to take home. Dietary restrictions: No GF breads Parking: Lots of street parking you may just have to walk a bit.
Made reservations for 12:30 for 5,arrived at 12:25....waiting,waiting,waiting.Finally at 1:00 we were seated after we suggested to the hostess to seat us at that empty table, which has been empty since we arrived at 12:25.Oh what a novel idea! Anyway we are seated....waiting,waiting,waiting.Not one person has checked on us and its now 1:30.We left! Worst service ever! Service: 1 Book a table now
Everyone says to make a reservation but it did NOT help!! We got here to 3 empty waiting to be cleared tables and still 2 parties walking in before us were seated before our reservation. Maybe the young man in charge of the service doesn’t know how it is suppose to work. Food was amazing and service staff were spot on. Front of house needs work. Service: Dine in
We were visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this sweet spot. The staff and food were so good we ended up going again the next day. It was probably the highlight of the entire trip. You MUST get the Grilled Cinnamon Raisin bread with Maple Syrup. Would make the drive back up there JUST for that. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast
