I typically enjoy dining at 5Spice and have had fantastic meals there in the past. Their eggrolls are my absolute favorite. However, during my most recent visit, I ordered only eggrolls, and they were quite disappointing. They were very dry and lacked both filling and flavor. After taking a bite, the entire exterior just fell apart. Not a good experience. I really hope this isn’t a sign of a decline in quality and that it was just a one-off issue. Quite disappointing.
Tried for the first time and found out it will be the last time. Very disappointed with the experience. Ordered sesame chicken. Found it to be a small portion for the high cost, did not have any spice despite requesting medium, no vegetables included, plain white rice, very artificial/too sweet sauce, and overall very poor quality food. There are much better options for Asian takeout food in the twin cities. I would recommend skipping this one.
The Shrimp Curry Fried Rice was awful. I ordered the highest amount of spiciness and there was very little flavor. Rice was extremely dry. Most fried rice Ive ordered from other places have other ingredients besides the rice, i.e. egg, etc... This had some shrimp and onion slices but, otherwise, was just dry rice. Was also expensive for the portion size.
Fantastic food! This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the northern metro area. My must-try dishes include the fried potstickers, egg rolls, beef lo mein, and sesame chicken.
