I doubt I'll try this place again I was on a business trip this weekend and we were told about this great restaurant. Well, I understand covid and all that but this was not a thing involved in this dinner. We were taken in within 15 minutes from our arrival and placed in a large area as we were 11 of us. The ambiance and decor looks good but we were struggling with flies in our table, we were given pita bread (soft and hard and a dressing of cinnamon butter that I believe it's better with cinnamon rolls not pita bread and especially not when you want to eat a savory main dish; I was waiting more of lebne or tzaziki dressing. Anyway, it took them about 2 hrs to give us our food. A friend and...

The menu offered a selection of traditional Greek dishes as well as some American options. We opted for the lunch specials and ordered gyros, which were served with a salad and side for $7. The salads were generous portions of fresh cucumber, tomato, feta, onion, and Greek herbs - incredibly delicious and fresh. I also enjoyed a glass of house wine for $5.50, which turned out to be a lovely Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. Our entrees arrived promptly after we finished our salads, served hot on plates wrapped in red checkered paper. We selected tabouli salad, Greek fried potatoes, Greek string beans, and sautéed zucchini as our sides. Each side dish was fresh and flavorful, with the tabouli hav...

I've been to Acropolis 5 or so times over the last 10 years and it was nice to go back now after having personally adopted a taste for a more international cuisine. Going here 5-10 years ago, I hadn't had much Mediterranean food broadly speaking so I didn't really have much to compare it to. The overall decor and ambience inside is intimate and detailed but some of the booth seats could use a resurfacing. The menu had a variety of options, but some seem to just be a bit more of an American or midwestern take on a Greek dish and less authentic. The portion sizes on the gyro platter and kota lemonati were very generous and both quite tasty. The tabouleh side dish didn't seem very fresh on this...

Ok, we went to this place a few years back and they must have been having an off day because we were marginal about going back. But WOW I am so sad that we didn't go back sooner!!! We started with the Greek Sampler appetizer and everything was very good, especially the Greek meatballs. I ordered the tortellini with gyro meat and it was MIND BLOWINGLY delicious. I could drink the creamy garlic sauce, it was so tasty!!!!! My husband got the stuffed chicken breast and he loved it. Aside from the food, the atmosphere was very nostalgic for us. We went to Santorini for our honeymoon, and sitting in Acropolis was very reminiscent of the real thing!!! It's a big building, but the rooms are sectione... Book a table now

The hostess had NO record of the Open Table reservation made three days before the dinner date. We showed her the confirmatory email (on cell phone) but it made no difference, as we sat, watched, and waited as others with reservations were directly seated. Food is good, and should be recognized as that. The restaurant featured tasty fresh food, ample servings, and a decent variety of menu offerings, albeit a minority of more authentic Greek dishes. The wine list offered a solid variety of choices at reasonable prices. It should be recognized that one should not expect anything near a fine dining experience. Why the recomendation? Acropolis is what it is, which would be a good (not great)regio...

We enjoyed our dinner very much. This was a special occasion, my wife's birthday, and this was our first time at Acropolis. Our only problem was they didn't have us on their reservation list. I had received a confirmation from Open Table but evidently Acropolis didn't receive it. Fortunately for us there were tables available and we were seated immediately in a very nice spot upstairs Book a table now

Lunch meeting here on Friday. Well kept secret in Evansville. Food and service was outstanding. A hidden gem. Will be back the next time I'm in E'Ville.
