This was my second time at Blue Heron! The last was about seven years ago, and I am happy to say that I was impressed both times. It's great to go through and city and be able to go back to somewhere you have not been to in a while, and get a great food and service experience again. Beer: we went for a flight! Hop Heart IPA: Great aroma of mango and grapefruit for me! The flavor was spot on hoppy and bitter! So good! Saison D'etre: I really enjoyed this Saison. We have been patrons of the Brewpub since it opened, but after the service we received last week we will probably not go back. We ordered a special advertised on Facebook. When it came, it was missing the tomatoes (as advertised). The bartender went to the kitchen and came back with a photo on his phone of the kitchen whiteboard that did not include tomato. Rather than come back with our two slices of tomato, as advertised, he felt it was more important to try to prove us wrong. It was insulting to say the least. It is a shame. This was the second time my family went to Blue Heron, not too sure if we would go back. When we arrived it was seat yourself, but I felt like it was also get your own menu, drinks and food! It took over 10 minutes for a staff member to acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and cheese curds. The curds came out hot but we had to remind the waitress that we did not receive our drink twice. We ordered and our fries were cold and bland. My son had to eat applesauce with a fork because the waitress never came back to see if we needed anything she forgot our request for honey mustard. This was a really neat place, the ambiance was pretty cool. The hostess didn't forgot the greet part of her job and just sat us. Our server was a nice girl however once we got our food she checked on us about seven times and I've never thought that the server could ask you if you needed anything too much lol. The food was alright, I had the western burger with potato salad. It was definitely well done but overall the taste was pretty good. The peach Bourbon BBQ sauce was pretty overpowering though. The potato salad tasted great! Overall our experience was okay as we did have to wait quite a while for our drinks and food.

Hit up this place late at night but still excellent. Just a classic Wisconsin fish fry basket with excellent batter and good solid fish. It wasn't cod, but it was still excellent. Served with fries and slaw as always. Beers were very good, cold and well priced. Biggest issue was the service wasn't that great- not enough people working there for sure for the crowd. Beer took awhile to get refreshed. Would go back though
Aggressively mediocre. If you 're looking for an Orv 's Ultimate Riser for at least double the price, look no further. The pizza did not have the correct toppings as we were told the cooks didn 't know it belonged on the pizza . Editable but disappointing and wish it was the old oven above the pub. Service and beer were good. They 've been so hit and miss for the past four years, it 'll be hard to go back now.
We are from Wisconsin Rapids but Blue Heron is our go-to spot when we're in Marshfield. In general, the food is good and so is the service. There are a lot of creative menu options and fun appetizers. We've had one or two mediocre experiences over the years, but we've never had a BAD experience, and no restaurant is perfect 100% of the time. Overall, Blue Heron is a great place to eat and/or have a beer.
The fish fry was fantastic, the portion sizes are generous. The beer is good. The service is good. Prices are on the high side of reasonable. The ambiance is fun, even if it is a bit loud for conversation. I would recommend the Blue Heron, if you are looking for an enjoyable evening out.

This is a great brewpub with good food as well. Not so good for those in a wheelchair as the bathroom is upstairs
One of our favorite spots but haven't been here in awhile. So glad we stopped. Great service and great food.
