I came here today with some friends for my birthday and the food was very good and our waiter was very informative and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant and our wait staff was great, even so much so as tending to our three year old. He was fantastic. Just dropped in to Agostinis for a coffee and a wine this afternoon after finding the cafe next door was closed. We weren't greeted warmly and felt as if our request for a table for drinks was inconvenient. We were sat down and weren't given drinks menus to look at instead the waiter asked straight away what we wanted. My husband ordered a coffee and I asked for a house red or shiraz if they had one. The coffee and wine were both good but ended up costing $26! When we enquired into the price we were shown the wine list and the glass of shiraz was $22. The most expensive glass of red on the menu. On arrival for my birthday dinner, the table for 6 had been incorrectly booked for 2. Luckily it was a Monday night and there was another table that our group could move to. The menu wasn't explained to us, and the one special for the evening was described in Italian and we had no idea what the waiter had just said. The wine was an exhorbitant price, as were most of the meals. I could not eat the $35 veal main as it was quite underdone and about an inch thick. Visiting Canberra recently, Agostinis was recommended to us for our family group of 8. We had booked and were grateful for this as the restaurant was full with a great atmosphere of happy staff, happy chefs, and happy patrons.I am sorry that I can't recall the name of our waiter as would like to congratulate him on his attentive and friendly service, especially noted that he crouched down to explain the kids' menu to our grandkids. The restaurant is large and open, which is the first sign of 'good for groups'. The menu has a good selection of pastas and (especially) pizzas but is otherwise quite restricted. I have eaten here a few times and the food is well cooked to a good standard, although I found the calzone a bit strange. Pastas probably the best but a bit small to have as a single dish. While delivery of meals was quick, the wait staff are not experienced enough to enhance the experience. .
What a buzz of a restaurant! Everything was spotlessly clean. The wait staff could not have been better but the standout was the FOOD! If you like Italian style of food then this is the place for you. Good wine list also and one that doesn't make your wallet cringe!!
Went for dinner with my partner a while ago, the food were good the floor staff a bit dismissive but isn't a big deal for us the place were packet so understood. Will come back for more in a quite night.
Headed here for a birthday dinner, we had a 1 meter pizza with 3 different toppings, it was great, their salads and desserts are amazing too, a bit pricey but amazing food, defi itely worth it.
