We were there last night. This was our fourth or fifth time there. The first was Feb 14 this year and this place had a long line waiting for the tables. Even though this was so busy, the food was quite good and therefore we came back again and again. This was quite disappointing last time (a few months ago) and we came to the conclusion that Shoygun was much better in both sushi / maki rolls and other kitchen items. Last night we decided to give Aji Sai a try again and that was a wrong decision. The sushi rice was hard and cold and tasteless. The maki rolls were made and cut unevenly and also fallen apart. DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY Awful service from wait staff and owner, I went in and was waiting for 15 minutes before being given a seat considering that the restaurant was entirely empty. The prices for all you can eat are far too expensive for the quality of the food, and regular prices on the menu are inaccurate, as I was ordering I was told that I would have to pay an additional $10 because of the inaccurate prices and when I asked to speak to the manager the owner came and was immediately rude before I even spoke to him, I asked about the prices and was told that if I was unhappy with the prices I could leave, he then continued to grab the menus off the table and out of my hands and left...
Food handling needs improvement. Waitress who was sneezing into her arms, blowing her nose into the napkin and touching her face with the same hands never washed her hands before serving food and drinks to the customers and touching the raw food (salad). I brought my observations to the attention of the owner. I hope our conversation results in hygiene changes but I have doubts as he excused her behavior with an apology that things get missed when it's busy. Hand washing should be a priority. There were only three tables with 5 customers in the restaurant. At least, she should have worn a mask when she couldn't stop sneezing.
This restaurant is my family favourite. I've been coming here since I was around ten, and the quality has stayed consistent through all these years. I visited again yesterday, and I was moved service is excellent, quantities for the all you can eat were large, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their dine in all you can eatVegetarian options: Delicious salads, my personal fav in the all you can eat menu is the avocado salad. The price is reasonable, staff was friendly, squid and shrimp tempura was good and fresh but sushi quality was not that good. I think Sushi was prepared by somebody just learned how to make it or they were rushing it even though the restaurant was not busy . It was not rolled tight so sushi was breaking when trying to grab it. Specially hand rolls..salmon was hard to chew... Sad, because it was a restaurant I used to go with my family in the past...
The food quality has been degraded a lot. I went there often prior COVID-19. Looks like they have changed staff. I don't see the previous manager anymore.The food doesn't taste like before. We have to wait 30+ minutes for our Sashimi orders to arrive. On the other hand, the sushi rolls arrive quickly, and they are huge, filled with lots of rice, and it makes you full easily.
Serving staff needs to be trained on how to be welcoming, patient and understanding. Attitude is important. 9:30pm last call for ordering. They want you in and out ASAP. The atmosphere is not really good. Food is ok make sure they give you what you order.
We typically order for take-out dinner. Their food has consistently been good and fresh. Overall, we will keep going back and would recommend this location for standard good sushi. Book a table now
