A lot of Chinese chefs opened this Japanese restaurant. It's so weird and I concern if they are chefs. The food they cook is very terrible. Not delicious at all. It's not real Japanese restaurant. A fake one. They throw food for entertainment during the customers having food. A lot of food has been thrown on the floor. They wasted so much food. Many kids see this wrong example and may learn to waste food. They must stop wasting food. The rice they serve is not fresh. It tastes like it has been stored in fridge for a long long time. Strange taste and smell. The dishes are very expensive and not good to eat. Not worthy the price at all. Don't recommend to buy the voucher from group on or go to...

Decided to try this place out with a friend after seeing good reviews online, and we were not disappointed! We ordered the surf and turf set menu, which included prawns, rice, teriyaki chicken, beef, fish (they had no calamari that day) and salad. It was a really fun experience to have the food being prepared fresh and cooked on the grill right in front of you, and to be seated in a group with other diners. And no, they don't throw all of the food at you!!! All of the courses were served normally, until the chef had some fun throwing food with the final dish. The chef was friendly and quite funny, and the food was delicious. I'll definitely be going back.

Service wasn't good. The cranky old man who runs the place makes you feel very uncomfortable from the outset. Seating is poor and he crashed into our child saet that he placed there in the first place. I would strongly recommend you don't waste your hard earned money on this place. Find pretty much anywhere else to enjoy your evening. We used a groupon voucher and find it hard to understand why they make you feel so bad when they created these vouchers in the first place to bring the customers in. I suspect they use this groupon vouchers to bring people in from afar. because the locals have avoided this place for a long time.

We were given a Groupon voucher for this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our experience there. Although we live in the next suburb, we did not know this place existed. The food was cooked in front of us and was very tasty. There was egg and fried rice throwing which was a bit messy but you could opt out if you wished. It was fun watching everyone trying to catch things. Some children there really enjoyed themselves. BYO wine is $1.50 per person. Book a table now

We attended with my in laws last year at Xmas time. Sadly it was an ordinary experience. It is not Japanese, but Chinese. This is a significant difference as the teppanyaki style is somewhat 'rough and ready'. The flavours were too MSG heavy and lacked the subtle flavours evident in good Japanese teppanyaki. However, there was plenty of food and the service was friendly.

We had friends from overseas who had pre teen kids and we wanted to somewhere a little bit different. Akita Teppanyaki fitted the bill. We had prawns chicken and wagyu beef on the grill and of course the 'catch me if you can' fried rice. Eggs ended up on some of us but we had lots of fun.

We sat to enjoy a family dinner. The place is very simple; poorly decorated and not very clean. The owners are not friendly. We ordered dumplings. We received fried wontons with tomato sauce which were revolting. Inedible. We didn't stay for the rest.

I arranged a group of high school students to visit Akita today. The staff were very helpful and fun, and everyone had a great time. The students loved the theatre of the cooking and the food was delicious. It was a great experience. Book a table now

Great food with the usual spectacle. Staff super friendly. Excellent entertainment for a special occasion. Certainly expensive in comparison to other food options but with the theatre included I think Akita offers good value
