ordered fish cakes & a duck salad. I like spicy food but chose the duck salad as it did not have chilli in it on the menu and the fish cakes did so i did not want to over do it.Could barely hear what the waiting staff were saying to me. Sat at a table, the lighting is VERY dim, food came out and could barely see what you were eating. Started to eat the salad and crunched down on a whole dried chilli. had to use the light from my phone to see in the salad and fish through the whole thing. 10 whole dried chillis in the one small dish. Bit overkill. Not all thai food is spicy. please have a variation in your menu & some lighting so that people can see in front of them. Overall the food was nice...

Went for a Thursday lunch, the premises is under new management from the last time we visited. We ordered Pad See Ew with beef, pad Thai with chicken, and a sirloin steak with chips, salad & gravy. The mates were happy with their thai meals, nice but not out of the ordinary. My steak was perfectly cooked, flavoursome, with crispy thick cut chips, tasty gravy & fresh salad. The bistro area was fairly quiet for a city pub, but easy to chat without shouting. It was a very enjoyable lunch and worth a visit. The costs were quite reasonable as well.
Had lunch at the Albion on Friday having been there a few times in the past. I ordered a Wagyu Beef burger which was quite tasty but the other meal was a 'very rare' chicken schnitzel - the indication that something was up should have been the 5 minutes it took to bring the Schnitzel out to us. The burger followed 10 minutes later. The meals were however a good size.We didn't complain as the bistro was filling up but with all of the alternatives in Sydney more care should be taken.
As we looked for dinner nearby, everything was closing, and it was possible to be served here as long as you order right away. The service was efficient, without any heat. The food very ordinary (avoid the fries, very fatty), but acceptable. The bill is reasonable, in relation to the whole. We will retain a good central location, and it is probably best to arrive before closing. Book a table now
The Albion is located on George Street across the road from HSBC Sydney Head Offices and is the local pub for staff there. I have been here often over the years for drinks and / or lunch with my ex colleagues and did drinks today in late afternoon.Typical pub grub with daily specials and always a popular place with the office crowd. A good range of beverages.
We stumbled upon this place, when 5 of us struggled to find somewhere to eat, where we could all good agree. It's a Thai restaurant over 3 levels and we liked the top level best, as it was never too busy and we could hear ourselves talk. The food was good and well priced, and we ate there a couple of times. A good range of beers. Good service. Recommended.
In the city for a few days at a conference and this pub is just down the road. Friendly place for a drink after the day is done, really good bar staff, quick service. Nice atmosphere, with modern but not over the top decor. Food was very good, not cordon Bleu but fresh well cooked and reasonably priced.
We are staying at the Meriton and the Albion is just down the block. Convenient for a beer and/or dinner. Small menu, but the scotch fillet is good and the chicken wings were crispy and tasty. There not buffalo wings, exactly, but not bad for AU! We also like the schnitzel and chips. Book a table now
excellent steak with fries, the meat tastes delicious, the cooking is perfect, the quality of the meat is optimal, very tender and smooth, like cutting butter.
