Well now I know why Polish food hasn't made it to the mainstream.. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's a problem with the food here, I'm sure the chef followed the recipe and it's an age old one at that, but I don't think I like polish food. The place is run by a lovely old polish couple, really friendly, great service, that was a plus. I tried the signature dish, the dumplings (got the 6 variety pack ) - it was a bit heavy with oil from the frying but the real problem was it was so bland, no flavour. Same problem with my main, the 'speed lamb', zero flavour and even the sauerkraut salad didn't help excite my palate. Of interest, they also had spaghetti bolognese on the menu, and I'v...
We were in Alchemy in November 2016. during our unfortunately too short stay in Sydney. It's a pity we found this place a few days before returning to Poland. We would be there more often, but we ran out of time. Mr. Janusz and his kind wife serve really good Polish food. Delicious rolls, dumplings, roulades. For this sweet, aromatic tinctures. Apple pie at home. Very nice atmosphere. You can sit, talk and listen to old Polish hits. If we are in Sydney again we will definitely be back! We cordially greet Mr. Janusz and Mr. Helena. Nice cute little cafe restaurant. Enjoyed the special of the day which was the duck dumpling and cranberry sauce, (tasted great!) the speed lamb (very soft and succulent but a bit watered down in flavour) and also the pork roulade (great!). Book a table now
