The most petty manager I've ever met all on top of a former closure order... I never leave bad reviews but this was all too much. I've been going to Shan for years now. Every time I would arrive the manager would try make me order from the a la carte menu despite advertising an early bird ment outside. He tried to refuse me the early bird menu on many occasions. The restaurant also was served a food closure order a few years ago. The bathroom has often been left in an awful state when I went. Today was the last straw. I'll never be back. On a positive note, there's lots of great other Indian restaurants in Dublin where the staff are friendly and professional. Avoid this place at all costs...
Love this place !! I stopped eating Indian food for about a year, but on my first visit back to Shan i was over the moon, everything is Top Notch ,lovely light but crispy naan bread and Curries that wouldn't be out of place in any Top places to eat Indian cuisine , I know cos I've eaten all over the place ! BUT the hard thing is to keep the Chefs and staff happy so they stay and hopefully the management do that !
We were looking for somewhere to eat in Temple Bar on a Friday evening which was very busy! My wife is in a wheelchair and this place was one of only a handful which had an accessible entrance. We walked in and found that we were the only diners (quite a worrying prospect! However, we should not have worried as we had an excellent meal and would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant
Went here with a group of 20 lads. What a dump! The carpet wants shovelled out of the place, the walls are filthy in the surrounding area of the kitchen. Drinks are mega expensive. The food tasted ok but I wouldn’t recommend it at all. The lads stated that the toilets were just absolutely disgusting. Food took an eternity to arrive. If you can pay cash you’ll get a 10% discount though.

we ate here several years ago and it was ok then so we went back- oh my goodness how it has deteriorated. It was absolutely filthy and the furmishings were threadbare. The toilets were unusable. it is no wonder that only one table was occupied. We walked in and turned around and walked out after one of our party saw the toilets and into the kitchen- we didn't even order
Me and My friends went over to this restaurant. Customer service was terrible. Lack of respect towards customers. Nothing. Because the customer service is provided based on the dressing not on the order. Example : they don't provide or ask customer about basic requirements like water.
Went here for a friend 's birthday as it was where he chose. The place is filthy, I dread to think what the kitchen in the back is like. The food is bad, it does not tast good and does not seem fresh. It 's expensive. The service is bad. Try a google search for Shan FSAI Disgusting.
GREAT food. It will be on teheop of our list the next time we're in Dublin. Great service and properly seasoned food. I can't say enough about this place.
