We were a party of six that often dines here. This restaurant is often chosen for our weekly dine out! On Tuesday, feb. 11 we were happily enjoying our meals when we asked for separate checks, as was usual for our group. We were told that they would not do that!!!! I hate to think that we will have to not come here anymore. Our couples are between 83 and 92. People of this age have varying appetites :some order alcoholic beverages,deserts and it is very difficult for us to try to figure what part of check belongs to who! If we came and sat at three different tables you would be able to give us three checks. Why can’t you give us our own check?????
Been there twice in a month. We love the atmosphere, the food, the service and the price. It is fairly loud in there, it’s a locals type restaurant so people are enjoying themself. I ordered the prime rib and it was amazing. The French onion soup needs some love to make it remarkable but the broth was tasty so it made up for some lost kudos. Everyone in my party will be back, but when we want to meet we will pick a weekday or much earlier. Thanks for always being good.
We celebrated our 51st Anniversary at the Alley. My wife had the Rack of Lamb and I had the Steak Diane. Both were excellent. We went at 5:30 on a Monday, so not very crowded. We took a bottle of our favorite wine from Orange Coast Winery and enjoyed no corkage fee. We have been going there for years, if not a couple of decades. We have never been disappointed.
Food was good! Spinach salad was delicious and the crab legs were as well. My porterhouse steak lacked flavor and needed more seasoning- just kind of bland. The macaroni and cheese was a favorite for my husband as well. It’s really loud in there but we’ve eaten there before and decided to give it another try for New Years Eve.

Food was good but not outstanding. Menu was a little misleading. The server told us the choices for sides but didn’t mention there was an up charge for some of them. The surprise came with the bill. She should have mentioned the cost when she gave us the choices. Otherwise the service was very good in a pleasant atmosphere.
The Monte Christo is my top choice! This restaurant lived up to my high expectations. The classic side salad with blue cheese was a delicious addition to my meal. My friend enjoyed the liver and onions dish as well. The drinks were fantastic too! I give this place all the stars!
Definitely coming back here for the bottomless mimosas! When you order they give you the champagne bottle, which is great, can drink without having to flag down the server. Only needed to flag down, to get another bottle.
I decided to revisit this restaurant after a few years. The quality of the food hasn't really changed much. I ordered the calamari and it was overly breaded with no sauce. I wouldn't recommend that dish.

Cute place in Newport with a good brunch menu. Good service and social distancing encouraged.
You can't go wrong with the alley. The food and drinks are great.
