If you're staying in either St Gervais or Megeve, or surrounding area, it is an absolute must to visit this wonderful wooden chalet restaurant perched high atop a mountain on the blue run Pre Rosset. We walked in and we were greeted by a very...lovely waiter who showed us to our table, the menu looked fab, but as soon as he informed us the Plat du jour was Steak Tartare that was us both decided. It arrived accompanied by three delightfully light and tasty pancakes, perhaps they could have been a potatoes pancake, regardless it was irrelevant as they were delicious. The steak itself, came with all the usual accompaniments, shallots, capers and an egg yolk. It was fantastic and very filling, a...

of us went up this was a night do. So covered up warm as taken on ski bikes with sledges. Quite a long ride around mins in all. Nice friendly bar staff awaiting us.with champagne. It was to be a fondu evening, cheese...and meat. The barman was very friendly and fun. Eventually we got to the table. I had the meat fondue but tasted the cheese one which was delicious. The meat was local and extremely tender and very tasty. French meat is not always tender as it is often too fresh and not hung for very long. Seems everyone had a nice time. The desserts were freshly baked. All the empty plates spoke volumes. The trip down was good the drivers taking it easy. Dîner en haute d'un montaigne qui dit...

the evening was ok until it was time to go back down. we were a group of friends with kids and one of the mothers had noticed that the bike that was going to transport of the kids down was going to be driven...by the old men, the father of the owner. She approached him to express her disagreement as he was visibly drunk. At that point to whole hell broke loose. he jumped off the bike and started verbally abusing our friend. There was such an overreaction that other people of the restaurant had to intervene to calm him down. At one point some of us also feared that he would become physically aggressive. All of this, that remember took place in front of all the kids, was just because one mothe...

The view is stunning. We were there twice. The food is good. First time we arrived at and the place looked and was disorganised. Ok, large crowds. Second time we arrived at Place was almost empty. Ordered food and water and a beer....Three waiters (all men ... wander around clearing tables in a haphazard way, and nobody brings our drinks for more that minutes. They clean empty tables , one of them while smoking a cigarette , but they still clean ours. When they finally bring the food the chef does a good job), they forget the cutlery. They need someone who cares and who organises service there. Book a table now

The food, when it came, was very good for a mountain restaurant, but the prices are high (main courses at least Euros, and starters only available if ordering a main course as well). And at this price level the speed of service should be...a whole lot better. Took minutes from sitting at table to being served drinks, minutes for food to arrive. That's unacceptable, particularly when sitting outside in sub-zero temperatures. Most competent mountain restaurants with waitered service can deliver in less than half this time.

It's hard to beat a cheap rose in the French Alps with a breathtaking view of the mountains. The local salades montagnarde were fresh, and the servings were sufficiently large. Four hungry skiers ate for EUR. The pricing may seem high to some, but...that is to be expected for a restaurant on the slopes. Note that you have to go inside to pay; you will not receive l'addition at the table. We would definitely revisit this restaurant if we return to Megeve.

That’s saying ALOT, especially as Megève is losing it’s authenticity as we speak. The owner is there, every day, serving you his steaks from his cattle. That’s already kinda cool. It’s not Haute cuisine, but filling and friendly. One of the last survivors and great...views. We always go here at least once on vacation. A go-to.

Super nice mountain restaurant that requires a bit of effort to reach, but that is really worh the walk. On top of local traditional dishes, they serve meat from their own cattle, and it is super tasty! The service is super freindly nice, and...the prices are fair in regard to the quality of the products. Book a table now
