"Have been sitting here for a birthday party and not regretting our decision. I ordered a lobster tail with vegetables and it was delicious.. The Sangria was fine, but the food was more for it. I cannot thank the servers enough for their great service. Can't wait to visit this restaurant again"

For more see liwinedad.blogspot.com It is springtime on Long Island, and the seasonal waterside restaurants are reopening. Anchor down is a very local place, and if you do not live in or near Seaford, you surely overlook this gem. Anchor Down is not a gem because of its high-end fine dining food but that it captures the essence of summer on Long Island. For Jo and I, this is very local as we can walk there and stagger back. The menu centered around classic dockside food, fish, burgers, and drinks with a bit of Mediterranean flair in homage to Cardoon's previously located here. The outdoor deck is sunny and adjacent to a broad canal that one can leisurely watch the Swans, Geese, Ducks, and bo...

At first the entire staff was very nice and very courteous. The outdoor food is not what the pictures represent. They actually sit under a covered area without looking at the bay. The fried Calamari was terrible. The Calamari was tiny, hard and dry. The crab cake was mainly bread crumbs and burned black on the ground. They didn't blame us for that. The lobster was fine and fresh. Overall, it was a disappointment based on the reviews we have read.

Located right on the water, Anchor Down is a great choice for Sunday brunch or dinner. The menu has a variety of choices including steamed mussels, fried clams or raw oysters. The main course offering includes a whole branzino, crab cakes, fisherman's platter and salmon. For cocktail the Shipwreck is a good choice and will leave you wrecked!

An enjoyable casual restaurant to have an outdoor meal. The menu provides a wide selection and prices are reasonable. The only issue is the parking. It share the lot with a marina that has dry docked boats. If you can't find parking you have to drive around the neighborhood. Otherwise, an enjoyable meal and evening.
