We can see this restaurant from our new apartment so it was an obvious choice as we both like Thai food. There are only two tables in the front of the restaurant so obviously most business is take-away, but when we ordered soup and curry each, the lady showed us into a room at the back which is actually like a beer garden with an awning cover and heaters. She turned on a heater and advised us not to sit too close. My partner ordered Tom Kha (chicken soup) while I had Tom Yum with prawns. Both soups were very good. I had Crying Tiger (fried beef in spicy sauce) and my partner had a Green chicken Curry to compare to another nearby restaurant we had eaten at days before. There were minor problem...

To compare restaurants, after visiting Amy@Lemon Thai, we went for dinner to the nearby Aom Jai. The name means at home. The welcome was such warmth that we felt ourselves at home. The little problem was that at home, we don't have to eat the...stir-fry with the spoon, that we got for the soup, and don't have to ask for serviettes. After the drawbacks now the advantages. We were escorted outside to a little garden restaurant that was very welcoming with a lot of flowers, but this time of the year, on a rainy, windy evening, wasn't the best choice. We got a heater above us, turned on immediately, but the cold wind won over the heater. My Tom Kha Gai soup first was a bit strange with the wedge...
During the strict rules, we had several takeaways from Aom Jai. Now the eat-in times are back. Our usual place in the little garden was probably lonely without us. The business is booming, as I can see because they were very busy with takeaways. My...partner ordered his usual Crying Tiger. Probably he shouldn't have to say what he wants since from the first time when tasted it was hooked, and from that on, he didn't order anything else. Even if I'm not too keen on ducks, a Duck Salad looked like worth to change my mind. It was a clever decision to try it. On the top of a lot of different salad greens and of course the duck it contained plenty of pineapple and lychees. Being a fruit lover it... Book a table now
It wasn't our first visit, but we knew, that we want an excellent Thai food nearby, this is the restaurant to go. They have only a very few tables inside, but above the outside tables is a heater, so if the weather isn't too unfriendly,...their little garden is a comfortable place to sit. We both tried new dishes, and we both were more than satisfied with it. My partner ordered a Crying Tiger, and me a Pad Cha. We both asked it very hot, and cook made it perfect for our liking. We were so delighted that we decided to go very soon again
It took a while but we have finally found a great thai restaurant to dine in and get home delivered nearby. After exhausting most in the Dee Why and surrounding areas we stumbled across Aom Jai and they haven't disappointed once. The massaman is my...absolute fav, beef is always super tender and sauce rich and tasty. Chicken satays, curry puffs and chilli basil noodles are regularly ordered
First visit to Aom Jai Thai Restaurant lovely welcome on a wet winter's day My meal chicken cashew stir fry with veggies (prepared fresh) was prompt perfect While decor is basic I'll be back quality& affordability. My jeweller...recommended them above Amy@Lemon Thai -p round the corner who are also good BTW
Service and staff are always great, the Pad kee mao has a great kick, my kids love the Pad Thai and the chicken wings, even had a work chrissy party out the back one year, Peter made the night work well and all my staff...left full and very happy. Sorry about the bottle of wine i dropped just on closing Book a table now
Love this restaurant! As a local family we come here quite often for any occasion: lunch, dinner, even for take away! My favourite dish is not on a menu but try yum woon sen! You will fall in love with it. Aom is very nice lady too!
