My meal was lovely. Cullen Skink and scallops with pork cheek. My wife's mussels were rather over salted and sauce lacking cream, although appreciate that is personal taste. What really loses stars is that 1hr 20mins after being seated, whilst finishing off our £30 bottle of wine, we were asked to vacate our table for other diners. It was a very busy Friday night and the poor staff were rushed off their feet, so we didn't complain at the time, and simply got up and left. But 1hr 20mins for a meal really is not long, especially as we waited 25 minutes for our main course after we finished our starter! So it felt very money-grabbing by the Arch Inn and spolit what would have otherwise been a 4...

The most expensive of our seven stays on the NC500 and the only one that did not offer a FULL BREAKFAST but a continental breakfast. Do not get confused with the continental breakfast you might get in Europe when on holiday, this consisted of processed ham and cheese, not dissimilar to that you might by in a packet from a supermarket. Orange juice was not fresh. On the plus side, the tea was hot. Our room overlooked the unkept smoking area with ashtrays not emptied for days and rubbish left all over the area. For the price. It felt like we were a captive audience with little regard for our pleasure or enjoyment. Sadly in western Scotland, alternatives are extremely limited.
Ordered a burger which had to be returned because it was over cooked, tough and very dry. Waited for ages for it to be replaced. By this time the rest of the group had finished eating and it was only when the waitress noticed that I was still waiting that she rushed to the kitchen and brought it to me. The burger was a slight improvement but still not very good. Very disappointed . Last meal at the end of a week’s tour on the Outer Hebrides and by far the worst!
We had a great dining experience at The Arch Inn. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. I ordered the scallops and a side of greens, both of which were perfectly prepared. We also tried the smoked chicken starter, which was a bit too strong for our liking. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was a wonderful way to end the meal. Overall, we would definitely dine here again. Book a table now
Booked to stay for two nights having been there several times in the past and always was first choice for Ullapool. Knew that they were no longer serving food but disappointed with minimal choice of 'continental ' breakfast. While the rooms are still of a good standard the bar seems to have become very much 'locals only ' with perfunctory service offered to guests.
When we visited The Arch Inn for dinner, it was very crowded. The staff seemed to be handling the rush, but having more staff would have been helpful. Despite that, the salmon dish we ordered was outstanding and the best meal we had enjoyed since arriving in Scotland.
A bit of a disappointment as the dining area is a stark, almost windowless room. The pub attached looked cozy and fun though no seats to be had. Food was good as was service. I’d give it another go easily for a pub seat.
Restaurant accepted and confirmed reservation but was closed on arrival. Very poor attitude and no response from management. Don't bother going here. Book a table now
When we arrived there was a note that the kitchen was closed. The barman apologised for not letting us know, so it was rather disappointing!
The evening at this restaurant was exceptional. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The staff were all wonderful.

"Liver and onions was creamy and tasty. This is a quiet small hotel restaurant and a very nice menu. The sticky toffee pudding was unfortunately store bought and just average but enjoy the main course."

"Very poor quality food. My two children couldn’t eat anything of the very limited offer on “curry only” night, sadly reminiscent of school dinners!"
