Our second visit to San Sebastian but we were on the opposite side of the city from the crowd of pinxtos bars in the old city. The only place open on a very wet January evening was Arretxe. Unpromising from thr outside small, typically bright Spanish lighting, plain tables and karaoke on the large TV screen. It turned out to be a welcoming local café which served excellent basic food at low prices: the salads, patatas bravas and chicken bites were all tasty and served in large portions. Recommended.
