We arrived in Le Puy the first weekend in September and were very disappointed to find very few restaurants open on Sunday lunchtime we had expected that the town would be buzzing as it was the ideal time for walkers setting off on the road to St Jacques de Compostella. After a short walk around the centre, we settled on the Au 3b and we were lucky to get a table. The restaurant's outdoor seating was ideally situated in the shade and one could just enjoy the passing scenes in the small square whilst sipping an apero. The plat de jour was very good value 10€ for chicken in a crème sauce, wonderful mashed potatoes and veg and this was followed by a lovely velvety chocolate mousse for 5,90€ and...
Great service, good food and a very good atmosphere. We had an omelet and the Plat du jour, which was chicken drumstick. Both meals came with salad and chips and were nicely cooked. A good rosé to accompany the meal was served in an ice jacket...all with a smile.
A nice quick and easy lunch in the centre of town. Homemade plat de jours (two options) described and served by the restaurant's helpful and friendly owner. €25 between two a very fair price for a good meal in a convenient location.
We found this town a great place to stay with a lot of truly wonderful eating places and this was one of the many that we stopped at for coffee and patisseries
