we were on the way to another restaurant on Saturday when we noticed the sign for the cheval blanc on the roadside and decided to give it a chance because it was much closer. thefmatten is a quite small village with only two restaurants, so we didn't expect too much. I went there with my parents on a Sunday night and we came too late. over 30 minutes after our reservation. normally in france after 9 or 9.15 clock it is difficult to get a good service. they were very understanding and nice, and did not hurry. the personal is spectacular and they have made us feel at home. eating is amazing, and this restaurant should have some michelin stars. everything was perfect. they literally pampered us with cookies even after dessert. it is worth the ride, even if they do not live near. this is a family-run restaurant that offers a very high standard kitchen. the set menus are changed regularly and according to the season. all, even the brot is made to house, and the foie gras and terrine are excellent. we tried most restaurants. in the opposite, but this is by far our favorite.
