a beautiful and humble restaurant by michelin guide, where they can have delicious seafood (in a quiet backyard) away from the mass in st florent. korsika is not short of large seafood, but this restaurant was our favorite and we are happy to come back. the chef is Japanese and the fresh seafood is served in Japanese style, but also influenced by a Mediterranean spirit. for the quality of the food size of the dishes the prices were reasonable: we had a common appetizer, 2 fish main dishes, dessert, wein, coffee, if I remember correctly, the bill was somewhere between 120-130 eur. the garden is beautiful and quiet, tables are disinfected, white table clothing and flowers, the service very fri...
We enjoyed our meal here, but felt that the main courses were a little too refined and masked the flavour of the fish. We not anti fusion cooking, but when you've got amazing fresh fish, we feel you should be able to taste that and not too many other flavours. That said the fish soup was incredible and the tuna and fois gras was different in a good way, which works well together. The service was excellent from start to finish and the wine options paired well.
Good tuna restaurant in Saint-Florent! The restaurant serves great tuna (killed with Ikejime) and several other regional fishes. We tried the sashimi, the sushi and the tataki (the MUST). The service is great and the restaurant hidden behind the fish shop is really spectacular. You need to make a reservation otherwise you will not get a table. A bit expensive but totally worth it!
amazing concept and extraordinary eating! the fisherman has set up a restaurant in his backyard, where you have to cross his load, so not so visible from the outside. if they find themselves in this area. the sushi was excellent, but the star of the night were the grilled gambas!
