We tried all the eateries in Troo but found this auberge to be the most convenient for us. The servers are nice, the owner is jolly and great fun. The food is very good quality and the portions are quite large. The price is similar to other restaurants serving similar products. The local Troo cheese and the very local pink wine is first class and should tried. The dessert crepes are excellent. We eat at the auberge 5 times in one week....
We had a family meal at the restaurant, the menu offers a good choice, there is even an English menu available. There is a varied selection of set meals and al a carte available at reasonable prices. There are one or two pleasant surprises in the meals available. The restaurant also has a bistro next door and you can eat in or out. The service was great, the quality of the food good and overall we had an excellent evening.
Despite checking the opening hours we were unable to get even a drink in here just before 2pm. The waitress said we'd need to go to the nearby town of montoire to get a drink. It was about 35° and this is a place supposedly wanting visitors. Insane.
As soon as we arrived we were told we could only order a la carte as it was too late to order menus...13h00 on a Sunday!!! Having said that the food was good and the owner friendly. A nice setting and we'll laid out
