We have been staying for several weeks for each of the last 3 years in Tailly very near Pommard, but only today did we make our first visit to Aupres du Clocher. It is small,about 24 covers, but it is great.The food is innovative and brilliant, the service friendly and very professional and the wine list extensive and prices reasonable.Overall on a par with, or better than, Montrachet( Puligny Montrachet) , Jean e Piere ( Chagny)and Hostellerie ( Levenois) - which are our favourite "up market" restaurants nearby.It is not far behind to the quality of Lameloise ( which has 3 Michelin Stars!!) and about a quarter of the price!Congratulations Jean- Christophe Moutet on a great menu and great fo...
We arrived at our b'n'b in Pommard tired & exhausted. We asked our hostess where we should eat, without having to drive too far. To our delight she managed to make a booking for us at this fabulous establishment at the end of our street. After walking upstairs to the restaurant we we greeted by the two waiters, one of whom spoke excellent English. He guided us thru the menu and selected an excellent wine for us. Each dish was superb and a wonderful new surprise. As is typical of French waiters, they have that aloof attitude until you crack thru the veneer then you find how wonderfully professional they are. If you go to Pommard, this restaurant is a must. The food is so innovative, beautifully presented, and they do have a less expensive menu (35eu) which is not available every day, so check the details on the board outside. We had a lovely local burgundy Pinot noir for under 40eu. You could spend a lot more if you go for the full tasting menu or a la carte, but we were very happy and spent around 110eu for 2 including wine. Service was friendly and perfectly timed.

A truly excellent restaurant worthy of it's reputation as the best restaurant in Pommard. Most of us chose the regional menu that included a delicious beef parmentier. Our dinner also included a delicious langoustine soup, courtesy of the chef. The lovely setting and amazing food experience was spoiled by the arrogant attitude of the waiter who not only recommended a medium quality wine but was also refusing to allow us to check the wine tag.
Having read many reviews I was expecting something really special. But what a disappointment. I had the gigout of lamb which was bland and uninspiring dish. the vegetables served were also tasteless. having had some truly sensational meals on the trip through France, this was a disappointing end to the trip. The Pommard wine we chose was good, but expensive for what ti was.
Enthousiasmante halte sur la route du retour de vacances. Tasty and delicate cuisine. Beautifully erect plates without excessive chichis. Welcome and casual and playful service. Very well-lit tips on wine side. Lunch menu to report quality price amazing. It's been a long time since I was not out of such a packed restaurant. This restaurant deserves a star.
This restaurant is hands-down fantastic! The chef is so talented and creative, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We love the warm Epoisses mousse served with an Epoisses-slathered biscotti as our selection for the cheese course. And incredible find, in one of the best villages in Burgundy!

Happiness may be in the fore, but it is above all THE CLOCHER Exquisite and surprising foods can give a good excuse to come to the church more often nothing but to enjoy this table when leaving Mass!
