I was absolutely flabbergasted at the abusive way the owner and his manager spoke to us about leaving food on our plates when we...had finished. When I went to pay the bill the cashier entered onto their card terminal the correct amount including half price for the three children. The manager then came over, deleted it, and re-keyed an extra The receipt was stuffed into my hand. I only realised afterwards on looking at the receipt, that I had been forced to pay the extra to make it full adult price for the three children, as punishment for leaving food on our plates. Having just been to the Carré Lumière we decided to eat before we hit the motorway and we came across this restaurant.....it was the red and white checked tablecloths that caught our eye. it was only so we walked around the garden which is...full of different objects, baskets hanging from trees which were not in leaf yet, and quirky little objects dotted all over the place. We were warmly welcomed and ordered some wine. There was a set lunch but we went for the a la carte and had steaks which were cooked to perfection with fresh accompaniments.....the waiter explained what we didn't understand in a clear way. Tourist style buffet piled high with some average French style salads alongside hamburgers and Chinese stir fry. Very weird. Food was edible but nothing special. Some of the dishes weren’t very nice at all. We got told off by the staff for not eating everything...on our plates. It was like being at school! At the end of the meal the owner harassed my elderly father into paying full price for the children at our table (including one baby who did not eat) as a punishment. The argument resulted in some of our party crying because of the way we were being spoken to. Never had service so bad. The “garden” was just a lawn with some strange sculptures. The setting is lovely, beautiful garden and interior, the wine cellar is an interesting touch. But we felt very uncomfortable here and not well recieved. As tourists with a decent but not great grasp of French, we were treated like they couldn't wait to be...rid of us. No time given to enjoy a drink before getting our food or between courses, the waiter was quite rude and we didn't understand everything he was saying. In addition to that, the food was not that great, definitely not special enough to warrant the bad service

We were grateful to the hosts of our local B&B for recommending this restaurant and booking a table, which was just as well as it was packed. But it was nonetheless relaxed and welcoming outdoors under the parasols, in an attractive setting. The menu is...wide-ranging, with interesting and appealing choices, all well cooked and nicely presented. Choosing our wine ourselves from the cellar was a refreshing touch. We arrived fairly early and left quite late and would definitely go back
We had lunch in the garden, funny and joyful service, super view ti the nice garden with potery and steel statues and things. The menu was really worth the price, and the cellar where you can explore the wines on your own is...an extra plus which resulted in two interesting local wines
We had dinner here last night. The restaurant was busy. Service was good. The food was OK. When we went to pay, they told us their credit machine was out of service. We were lucky that we had enough money to pay our bill. Very...unprofessional!
This is. the nicest restaurant in Maussane, the food is always good. Great service and the owner is always present which is good and the food is delicious
