I searched high and low all over Newport looking for great nachos. I found them at this location! Good location near the beach. Parking and crowd not an issue on a Sunday evening. The key to these nachos: Wet pinto beans about half way down the pile of homemade chips, and fajita style veggies on top. No cheap jar jalapeños either. Lots of cheese and carne asada. I almost polished them off, but I ate too many of their warm chips and salsa....which was also awesome....nice crunch and flavor. Wife had the cheese quesadilla which she likes. Service was good. Atmosphere was nothing super special, but they do have open windows which is a nice touch being near the beach. This was a very affordable...

I was looking high and low over Newport for great nachos. I found her here! Good location on the beach. Parking and audience no problem on a Sunday night. The key to these nachos: Wet pinto beans about halfway down the stack of homemade chips, and fajita style vegetables above. No cheap Jar Jalapeños. Lots of cheese and Carne Asada. The atmosphere was nothing special, but they have open windows that are a beautiful touch near the beach. This was a very affordable place I will visit again when back in Newport...
Order guac but never go it (despit ask twice,) was still charged $12 for it. Our waitress has rarely checked, and when she did, she had difficulty communicating. Asked for simply hard shell-tacos with steak (not different), but you said all the tacos were prefabricated and we couldn't order that. Margaritas was best moderate, served in a sloppy glass with shrimps running on the side. The waitress was rarely checked in and difficult to find. The food was good on average. Not recommended.
Delicious food! I was here at Cinco de Mayo and the whole restaurant was a fun place to be. The food was great, the atmosphere was fun and the music had a good energy. I also have to say that I am her guacamole LOVED. I'm very picky about Guac, and most of the time I won't eat it because it's just not that great. Avila had fantastic guacamole and I would eat it again at any time. Book a table now
we went to happy hour and the bar was closed the daughter of the owner had her 35th birthday party. the restaurant was empty. the host approached us and said we could get Hour-Hour-Margaritas at the tables inside. the margaritas, chips and salsa were excellent. when we calculated the bill for our drinks. my man questioned the price the manager gave us.
I was very impressed by the service, the hosts, and waitress was a joy. The food was not so good, but I could come back if it was only spiced and a little spicy to what Mexican cuisine should be. That's my opinion about the food. In another note, the music and atmosphere was great that felt me in a good mood.
Love this place for lunch Mama Avila soup is great here for years. A bit expensive for Mexican foods if you take it to go it could be better options, but if you want to sit down and enjoy a great experience of course you will pay a bit more so I recommend sitting in and enjoy your food there
I love this place about and about service, Angie always greets you with a big smile and a hug, the food is great and all staff very nice and hard work, recommend this restaurant is a few steps from the beach. Book a table now
Drinks were ok, tacos tostado was pretty basic tasting without a lot of flavour. Server didn?t comp anything when the kitchen lost our check. $165 for lunch for 3 people, California for u I guess, meh.
