Just honestly good food, we had set menu that had courses with dishes (if you count fried potato green salad, that's ! Each had its creativity and craftsmanship in its making. Pastas were fresh, mixed well with sauce. Meat dishes of sous-vide salmon and pork belly were highlight for us, salmon came with raw asparagus salad, pork belly with chickpea chorizo curry. So interesting, we both want to try cook this at home now we came for special birthday celebration, they put two tables together for us to have extra table elbow space, and greeted my boyfriend with Happy Birthday lighted candle on our tiramisu dessert. Waitresses were attentive, chef has great knowledge of food and wine. Those purp...

only honestly good eating, we had set menu, that had 4 courses with 10 arranged (if they count fried potato green salat, that is 12)! each had its creativity and craftsmanship in its production. pastas were fresh, well mixed with sauce. meat dishes of Sous-vide salmon and pork bells were for us high point, salmon came with rohem austere salad, pork bell with chickpeas chorizo curry. so interesting, we both want to try to cook this home, now we came for special birthday party, they have two tables together for us to have extra table arch space, and welcomed my friend with happy birthday illuminated candle on our tiramisu dessert. the waitresses were attentive, the cook has...read more
A very delightful casual eatery with some high quality pasta that comes close to one of all time favourites. Not only is the pasta done well but their choice of sauces and accompaniments are novel Artichoke ravioli??Come on doesn’t that just sound really interesting? Besides pasta, the Spatchcock, again one of our favs...is also very well cooked. We’d probably rate it, as good as Nomads and better than Felix’s...yes Felix you’ve slipped...It was very succulent with a mellow roasted garlic sauce and charred radicchio to keep things interesting The Brussels were also very well fried....so well fried that we felt so guilty finishing it...yes it’s oily, quite oily but it’s...read more
Came here with a bunch of girlfriends on a Thursday night. We ordered a special Prawns and White bait entree which was crunchy and well seasoned. Next came the pastas we heard the gnocchi with pistachio's was the sous chef's nonna's recipe and can say that was the star dish of the night. The beef cheeks lasagna was unfortunately on the salty side with lack of lasagna sheets so it looks very meaty. The waiter who looked like a partner of the restaurant was very knowledgable on his wine list which explained why we ordered 3 different bottles of red wine. I may return in the future for the ambience, wine and the yummy gnocchi! Book a table now
I booked this restaurant around one month prior for my staff Christmas party in December. What an embarrassing evening to say the least. With minimal offerings already on the menu they had run out of all pastas which meant that there was one pasta to choose from. The excuse I was given was that they were about to close the next day for a holiday period so their stock was low. Peak period of of December! They have no idea what they are doing here, I would not recommend it for the food or the service. The serving sizes were ridiculously small for some and larger for others, very inconsistent.
In the very chic European laneway of Ash Street is this cafe. One side is the more formal osteria with hot dishes, wine and the other the cafe serving ready made sandwiches, a few dishes of the day and coffee both dine in and takeaway. On this occasion I had coffee food at the cafe and the coffees are great. There us pizza by the slice which changes daily this time it was marinated artichokes salami. The topping was nice but the base was so hard and burnt (black) which was disappointing. The vegetarian frittata of the day was lovely and fluffy. Service is prompt and friendly.
I booked this restaurant about a month before my coworkers Christmas celebration in December. what a embarrassing evening. with minimally offered already on the menu they had fled from all pastas, which meant that it had to choose a pasta. the excuse that I was given was that they closed the next day for a holiday period, so their act was low. they have no idea what they are doing here, I would not recommend it for eating or service. the portion sizes were for some and larger for others ridiculously small, very uneven.
We walked out of Bacco relatively satisfied, though not entirely delighted. For a restaurant that was so lauded and well-reviewed, the food had been remarkably mediocre – dessert aside, of course. The part of this that really rubbed me the wrong way was that Tipo 00 in Melbourne has similar ratings (Tipo00 was rated one point lower, actually) and comparable prices, yet it ran circles around Bacco with one hand tied behind its back. And so, the search for good pasta continues. Book a table now
