Back Lane has some very good connections. Hunters Hill has an abundance of restaurants and in this price range there are some Crackers. They really need to taste the food before they send it out. Too salty, overcooked, and poorly arranged on the plate are a few of the observations from our four meals. The Lamb shank is below par, even though it should be a great winter dish, it comes out not quite cooked and with Couscous that needs some TLC. It is just OK. Interior decor is poor, Boy Scout Hall in Bourke is the feel. Come on guys, you can do it better!
Great old fashioned bowlo with pub grub bistro containing all the classics you'd expect. Food and drinks very reasonably priced. Great portion sizes and good quality. Thank you for hosting the Dachshunds in the Park christmas get together. Everyone including the dogs had a fantastic time and your staff were so accommodating to the dogs bringing them buckets of iced water on such a hot day. Will be back for the food and beer garden chill atmosphere. Music was all solid bangers from the 80s.
My husband's 40th birthday party was held here in mid-July, and I highly recommend this venue. The stage and dance floor were perfect for the band we had. Our guests all raved about the delicious food. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic night, and nothing was too much trouble. We even returned to The Bowlo the next day to relax in the sunny beer garden. This club is truly a hidden local gem!
I visited this venue recently as part of a medium sized group, for lunch. I haven't been for a while, and I won't race back. The space is large, light & airy. The menu has enough choice, prices above average. My meal was underwhelming- it looked great, but my grilled prawns were cool & watery. Service was friendly, but clunky. Hmmm.

My wife and I have now eaten a number of times at the Back Lane Bistro in the Hunters Hill Bowling Club since the new chefs arrived. The menu selection is great. Food is excellent and service is friendly and quite fast.Congrats to all. Keep up the good work.
