Heard about their Portuguese tarts and finally they were open when we were in the area. I wish there are labels, with prices, so didn't have to ask or guess about the baked items. I even asked what kind of bakery it is and learned it is a Portuguese place. Tarts are $2 each. Not warm and the crust is not as crunchy, but the custard was good, smooth and not too sweet. Paired well with hot coffee. Sweet bread is dense but not hard with a little sweetness. Another we tried was described as having egg a spongy cake with coconut flakes and yellow topping but wasn't eggy, a bit sweet for me. Almond napoleon was good but pastry was a bit hard to slice so had to bite off pieces. A lot of almond topp...
I absolutely adore this bakery/café! Everything they serve is fresh and delicious. We are big fans of their torta mixta made with Portuguese bread—it's essentially a ham and provolone sandwich that's pressed. Their coffee selection is quite good as well; their cappuccino is one of my favorites. The staff here is friendly and attentive. Their pastries are delightful too, especially the Portuguese custard, which is a must-try. They offer a wide variety of fresh breads as well. The atmosphere is clean and spacious, but do keep in mind that it can get very busy on weekends! My only complaint is that when they are crowded, it can be a bit overwhelming. While you can order over the phone, you stil...
My family and I went out to the Island to visit my Aunt the day after Christmas. Did a quick search and found this gem in Mineola. We ended up ordering a variety of pastries and a few pastéis de Nata because what better way to compare Portuguese bakeries?!? The other pastries including eclairs and cannolis were tasty, but nothing to call home about. However, the pastéis de Nata was absolutely stunning. The cream was beautifully sweet and silky and the outer pastry was still crisp even after hours of sitting in the takeout box. I would come back for a cup of coffee and a few pastéis de Nata!I 've personally never been to Portugal, but I have a good friend who 's Portuguese and she shared with...
This charming little bakery and coffee shop offers delicious toast and some of the best homemade soups around, in addition to a delightful selection of cakes and pastries. The owner and her staff are always ready to take your order and serve you at your table. Walking in feels like stepping into a café in a quaint Portuguese countryside town; the ambiance is simple and welcoming. Yes, the Portuguese do tend to speak loudly, but that adds to the atmosphere. You won’t find a fresher or creamier Pastéis de Nata anywhere! Book a table now
This continues to be a consistent source of sugar and caffeine in my life. Perfect for a lazy Saturday morning when you need some sweet treats and of course their signature egg tarts. They even make a Nutella egg tart which is perfect if you're in the mood for something decadent. I recommend dining in so you can bask in their cozy aesthetic. Eternally grateful for the recommendation given by a friendly local at Trader Joe's.
Very good pastries served with good service in a nice bakery/cafe. That being said, (and this being no fault of the business)... judging by the dirty looks from the regular patrons it 's pretty obvious they dislike seeing unfamiliar faces in their favorite bakery. Ridiculous.
I had the best cappuccino and pastel de nata I've ever tasted! The bakery offers a fantastic variety of fresh desserts, and the atmosphere is perfect for both work and social meetings over coffee. The staff is incredibly friendly too!
I decided to try the signature dish, pastel de nata, and it did not disappoint—it was fantastic! I also had the iced coffee, which was really good and tasted like high-quality coffee. Book a table now
Love their egg tarts!! I keep missing the chorizo bread which I desperately want to try! ?
