Three of us went here for lunch yesterday and were actually quite impressed. The small menu consists of simple but well prepared and tasty food and they have some good beers on tap (including Lazy Yak- my new fave) but $12 a pint is a bit cheeky! It was unusually quiet for a Saturday lunch but I'm guessing it gets busier later in once the live music starts? The southern fried chicken is basically a fancier version of KFC, with a a good serve of chicken, lightly battered and deep fried to a golden crunch (and was not greasy)- yum! The bratwurst is a comforting take on the hot dog with a big bratwurst, smothered in a chilli bean mince and topped with cheese. I do not regret my choice. My o...

My partner and I stumbled into Ball & Chain on a rainy, cold, Saturday aftenoon. And what a great decision! With a beautiful rustic and sleek decor, this place makes for a warm and cosy feeling. With a small and easy menu and a great selection of beers on tap - how can you go wrong? I absolutely loved the jalepanõ poppers and the onion rings as a snack and for a good portion lunch we had the pulled pork, corn relish and flat bread and it may not sound like much but it was beautiful and all perfect portioning. Great establishment, will certainly be back. ( Also? 6 pokemon in 8 minutes...can't beat that.. :D )

Had a drink and lunch yesterday Dec 27th. Service was very slow but eventually extra staff were brought in from the other bar to help out. Food service was extremely disorganised - the aioli that was meant to be served with the fries had to be asked for separately after the food was delivered not just by us but by several other customers as well & when I asked for salt I was told they couldn't find the only salt shaker in the bar "another table must have it" I was told with a shrug - what!? No effort was made by staff to get salt from the kitchen or find the solitary salt shaker. Very poor Book a table now

Lousy service, poor food. Buzzer went off and due to miscommunication with staff we were asked to pay for an extra pizza that we didnt order. we wanted 3 lamb sliders but the female chef was apparently in a bad mood and wouldnt accommodate us so we had to change our order to 2. Shoestring fries were literally macdonalds chips for $7 with aioli which were a childrens sized serving and apparently doesnt come with aioli even though it was on the menu. This place has a lot to learn. Obviously no manager on duty with a unaccomodating chef.. will i return?. hell no...

Popped in for lunch today after discovering this great pub. The new front beer garden was a great spot to sit with plenty of shade and water misters cooling us down on a hot day. There was a guy with a guitar and singing some nice mellow music once they sorted out the technical issues. We had the pulled pork with tortillas, jalapeño poppers and onion rings. Everything was great and filling for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back for a relaxing sesh and a few beers.

They have a very nice outdoor area just need to get it at the right time otherwise the sun doesn't hit it. Just a few beers however haven't gotten a chance to try the food but I didn't read reviews that made me want to try. Maybe next time.

Been to better pubs in Fremantle. The food was ok but nothing special. Service was friendly and food came out quickly. The rope attached to the food board was still wet which wasn't great. Book a table now

Had 'the rooster'. Very tasty. Very prompt service. Very limited menu, but good quality all round. Wifes Sliders were also quite nice. Prices not too bad.
