This is one of the best brewpubs in Montreal, and definitely the top choice in the west end. They have a fantastic expanded beer garden located at the corner of Sherbrooke St. and Jeanne-Mance. The American Brown beer complemented my Reuben Sandwich perfectly. Initially, I ordered the Weizenbock, but the server informed me that the keg had just been changed and he didn’t think it was up to their usual standard. Without me even asking, he offered me a taster of it, and I found it to be quite good. It’s clear they have high standards for quality here. On June 9, 2023, we had an unfortunate experience at this restaurant. The waiter appeared too intoxicated to serve us properly. We didn’t make a fuss about it, and there was no tension during our meal. We finished our beers, paid our bill, and left a 15% tip, as is customary for locals. However, as we were leaving, the bar staff began mocking us behind our backs. They waved at us with the back of their hands and imitated a Latino accent since we were with Brazilian friends. For over fifteen years, Benelux has been one of my favorite microbreweries. Its convenient location near McGill is a definite plus. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with music at a comfortable volume that doesn’t disrupt conversation. Most importantly, their beers are fantastic; I think they might be the reason I truly began to appreciate beer. While the snacks can be a bit pricey, they are definitely tasty—don't miss the olives if you're a fan! Their hotdogs are also quite popular, generously sized and served in a crispy bun. The staff is friendly and attentive, making it a wonderful spot to catch up with a friend or colleague, and it’s an excellent choice for a first date.
I recently spent four days in Montreal, and this pub near our Airbnb quickly became my wife's favorite spot. The music was fantastic—not too loud—creating a great atmosphere with a wonderful crowd. The drinks were excellent, featuring a great selection of microbrews and cocktails. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I've been visiting Benelux for 15 years, but since COVID, the service and quality have declined. The waitress, Julie, exhibited concerning anti-Semitic behavior. I won’t be returning! The management was present and failed to address the situation.
The beer selection is excellent and made locally, the staff is friendly, and the seating area is relaxed and conveniently located in downtown Montreal. It’s such a pleasure to have a great spot like this nearby!

The beers were extremely crisp and tasty. I particularly loved the Cactus NEIPA and the Criquette Blanche with strawberries.
