This is an outstanding location. It’s a cozy, independently owned coffee shop where everyone greets you by name when you enter. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with many locals frequenting the place, making it pleasant to walk in and be recognized and engaged by the staff. Their breakfast bagel is phenomenal—an everything bagel topped with cream cheese, bacon, and tomato that is simply delicious. The coffees are fresh, and their lattes are exceptional, but it’s the friendly people that bring me back time and time again. This place absolutely deserves a five-star rating, and I highly recommend you give it a visit!
We used to LOVE this place. But with the increased prices and the upsell of every little thing, i honestly feel price gouged every time i go now. I do not mind paying extra, but the coffee needs to reflect the cost. Its no longer does. The service this last time was really sad and actually ruined the beginning of our holiday weekend. It bordered on some bias microagressions that made me really uncomfortable. This is Unfortunately our last visit, but i would be happy to dialogue with the manager or owner to see how staff can learn from these things. Any other local coffee places we can supoort, please share.
I experienced some inappropriate jokes from the staff at the Benicia Coffee Tea Company on Friday, February 10th. I went in to order a coffee and found out they don't accept GPay. There was a man behind me who laughed and, as I was leaving, he asked the woman at the counter—who I think is the owner—if they accept pesos. She found this very amusing, making a joke that implied I might try to pay with pesos next. For context, I am Asian and have no Mexican heritage. I believe such jokes are not appropriate for anyone, and it would be better to keep comments like that to oneself. Happy Friday!
The coffee here is outstanding and reasonably priced. They also offer food and ice cream, so be sure not to just fill up on coffee! If this place accepted card payments instead of being cash-only, I would have rated it a perfect 5 stars. It's time to catch up with the rest of us in the 21st century!

This is a fantastic spot for coffee and pastries. I was surprised to find it only accepts cash, but there's an ATM on-site. The staff is excellent, and the selection of drinks is impressive. However, parking can be a bit tricky at times.
The restaurant had an incredible aroma, but they only accept cash, which seems outdated since very few people carry cash these days. They really need to modernize their payment options. It was a frustrating experience.
This coffee shop is a fantastic hidden gem! The BLAT sandwich was spot-on, and the mocha was outstanding. The owners are calm and helpful, creating a warm vibe. I really enjoyed the quiet and cozy atmosphere!
Great vibes and energy here… The staff is fantastic, the coffee is excellent, and the various “melt” sandwiches are outstanding … I especially love the pizza melt!
