Today, I had Sunday lunch with 4 friends at this restaurant. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and enjoyed delicious German lager and local ales. Our orders were taken promptly and all of the roast dishes we ordered were outstanding. The rib of beef had a lovely crust and the pork had a delicious crackling. We also indulged in some excellent English desserts, including fruit pie, custard, and sticky toffee pudding. The ambience was great, with plenty of people enjoying their meals and locals stopping in for a lunchtime pint. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and I can't wait to come back again soon.

Two adults and a 4-year-old had Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The menu offered 3 choices of main dishes, perfect for a traditional Sunday roast. The homecooked food was delicious, especially the homemade yorkshire puddings. The rib of beef and roast pork were both delicious, and even the children's roast was enjoyed. There were multiple dessert options available, and the tarte tatin was particularly exceptional. The pub has a traditional atmosphere and even has a skittle table. Don't expect cocktails here, but the food and ambiance make up for it.

We booked Sunday lunch here mainly because it was the pub in the village that my dad spent some of his childhood in, so it was more for nostalgia. However we were not disappointed with the lunch. The meat was plentiful and the beef was so tender, the yorkies were homemade and the vegetables were all fresh (not a frozen pea in sight! . The puddings were decent size portions too....none of your designer stuff! All in all a lovely lunch in a quaint village pub with lovely staff too.

Popped in for dinner as it’s relatively close to us to find a proper pub selling well kept, local real ale. A reduced menu as the owners had just got back from a trip away, I had a Mediterranean vegetable pie and himself had sirloin steak. Excellent food with proper chips, even if we couldn’t finish them. Made a lovely change to find a pub where people talked to you rather than shuffling you out the minute you’ve finished eating. Will definitely be back. Thankyou! Book a table now

This is a beautiful Grade II listed pub. Over the past three weeks it has been run by Mick Everett and his lady. They have had the pub buzzing with all sorts of events quizzes, live music, a Burn's Night, to mention just a few of them. And the Sunday lunches are excellent. This is how a pub should be full of people having a good time and being friendly to each other. It's been excellent seeing a board outside advertising what is coming next.

Regular readers will know that we very much like this place. We booked a table for Sunday Lunch today to coincide with our 35th Wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! Bill's legendary roast really hit the spot and the atmosphere and banter in the pub was brilliant! Really nice to see jovial Malcolm behind the bar. Roll on the next visit!

We recently went to a Sunday roast without a reservation, but the owner was very accommodating and found a table for us. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The bar had a lively atmosphere with locals. I would recommend this place as a great spot to enjoy a roast dinner.

The Stake and Stilton Pie is exceptional and the Sunday roast is hard to beat anywhere Either a single selection or a trio of meats, always wonderful, I have tried them both and not disappointed. A very cosy and welcoming pub to spend a lunch or evening in. Book a table now

Had heard good things about Sunday roast but was served dried up veg and roast potatoes and what seemed to be a reheated frozen Yorkshire. Very disappointed
