My wife and I were staying in Gstaad for several days in January. We asked our hotel to secure reservations at the Olden Restaurant. The restaurant required our credit card number to secure a reservation. I regarded this as odd, but it suggested that the restaurant closely managed the seatings, which in my mind is a good thing. Our hotel also reminded us twice not to be late to the dinner, again perhaps the request of a concerned restaurateur. When we arrived for dinner, we were greeted by the restaurant manager, suggesting a close management of the house. This effort to manage ended with our arrival at the table. This quaint restaurant was a big surprise. I really enjoyed every minute of my dinner. There was live entertainment all evening with the fine gentleman singing and playing his guitar. He was lively and lovely, always smiling. We told them we were all vegan (several of us) and they made our food to order; pasta with vegetables, quinoa salad, minestrone, and sorbet for dessert. We killed a couple of bottles of wine. Interestingly they served Swiss wine. Who knew the Swiss made wine! Our waiter was delightful, respectful and a true gentleman. I loved our experience. The ambience was perfect. Not too loud, not too crowded, just perfect. Make a reservation and go!
Brilliant restaurant of the Hotel Olden…! We went here over a personal recommendation and we were quite glad. Each and every was dish prepared with perfection. Must try “Penne Ala Vodka” The potion sizes are just about right. A vegetarian person in our group was very happy as well. The deserts are also a must try. The service is quick and full of smiles. Overall a beautiful experience, with an expensive bill in the end Recommended…!
First of all, the food was of good quality. What not so good was, the staff was superficial in responses and the price way too high. Would not necessarily recommend this restaurant since there are better places to eat in Geneva (such as the one on the opposite of the road; Posthotel Rössli excellent restaurant).
