"We stopped at this restaurant because it looks very quaint. Charming it is, but we were very disappointed with the service. Switzerland partly lives from tourism and people,in the hospitality business should be happy that there aew still a few tourists who come to Switzerland in some of the horrendous prices. One more thing that bothered me was that the restaurant doesn't accept children under 7."

After a nice hike in the alps with a close friend visiting from Singapore and my three children 6,8 and 10 we arrived here in the hope of a drink and a small bite to eat. All the hiking signs indicate drinks are available. On arrival at the restaurant I was greeted in a rude and aggressive manner by the owner in Swiss German which I speak fluently asking if my youngest had already turned 7. I answered that he was due to turn seven next month and he told me we could not come in as he didn't accept kids under 7. He then said he would make an exception but he would " put us in the corner and expect the kids to be quiet". I was appalled and very taken a back by this attitude up here in this moun...

My title summarises the experience. A beautiful location, winter or summer. The owner has some idiosyncrasies to say the least. He can't stand small children, demands cash payment, and in winter please ensure that you have cleaned all the snow off your boots before entering. His hauskaffee Tiefschnee (coffee, cream, and brandy) is excellent though exorbitant. His gruff exterior conceals a heart of gold (possibly). The dialogue is a cabaret itself. Possibly the most expensive French fries in the Alps. But getting here, either on skis or on foot feels like such an achievement that you will want to hunker down and enjoy at least something to eat or drink, depending on the depth of your pocket....

After a beautiful walk you find this nice spot for a drink or some home made soup. The owner does not behave very friendly, but alas, you are tiered and order (3 hot milk and one soup). In the meantime you go to the toilet and find yourselves in a totally dark gangway, but alas. But then comes the bill: 32 Francs!!Later on we learned in our hotel that the owner is infamous for his hospitality and prices. So beware.
