Oh gosh, it’s been a fair while since I last posted on the site! Work has been really hectic which took up most of my time the last month or so. It is only now settling back to normal. Time for a post . I’d been hitting up a number of Thai restaurants lately as the Hubby loves the cuisine. I must say the Thai cuisine here is much more advanced than Perth’s, also cheaper and a bit less formal. There are so many Thai cafes in the city! We’d been going to a different one every fortnight or so haha I’m going to be an expert in Thai food soon This post though is on a quick stopover brunch we had at Big Tree House in Rydalmere whilst we were still living in Eastwood.
This bustling cafe is located in an unexpected suburban backstreet, but it is a fantastic hidden gem. The service is friendly, efficient, and has a great can-do attitude. The food is delicious, with highlights being the prosciutto wrapped asparagus with eggs, a flavorful mushroom and ricotta dish (though it may not be enough for a large appetite), and the kid's calamari with fantastic chips. The accompanying bread is of excellent quality, and the Campos coffee is so good that we ordered another round. We will definitely be returning!
The staff at this restaurant is extremely friendly! The location is perfect for a peaceful dining experience, with charming outdoor seating and a fantastic atmosphere. The coffee is delicious, but the menu is a bit limited and the food is not outstanding. Despite this, I highly recommend this spot as a wonderful local hangout for a relaxed afternoon.
This place ticked all the boxes except for location. A busy little cafe in the west, they delivered exceptional service and food. Tried out the corn fritters with poached egg, avocado, bacon and salsa. Not the cheapest at $16 but the fritters were the hero of the dish. Really nice and not too heavy. Come again? Absolutely!

Fabulous little cafe. Impeccable customer service from all employees. Felt welcome from the moment we stepped in. Staff were honest and friendly. Food was yummy, filling and fairly priced. Will be a regular breakfast spot for my husband's and I : . A hidden gem.
I just can't fault this cafe. The food is always great and seasonal too and not overpriced with generous servings. The staff are excellent and will go out of their way to provide for special tastes and diets. The chips are the best ever!!!!
The pancakes are not as fluffy as I would like. The ricotta filling is not as generous as I would like. Plating is amazing and food was served pretty fast. Good service and there's free off street parking just outside the cafe.
Very nice coffee and a nice walk from the surrounding suburbs. Interior is kind of kitschy and the centre wooden bench makes the layout quite unique. Good service too!

Amazing coffee and a well priced breakfast. I will remain a regular customer. Also the staff are friendly and there is always consistently great customer service!
Extremely quick and attentive service. Food was amazing and came out very quickly. Meals were fresh and tasty. Will definitely be coming back!
