Not Your Ordinary Diner is their self proclaimed tagline, but it couldn’t be more true. This is the first time I’ve ever been to a diner but can’t wait to go back. I gave the resturant 5 stars, but that’s with the understanding that it is after all a diner, I’m reviewing pancakes and french toast here. The resturant does have all sorts of awards for best breakfast/best diner up on the wall, they had so many that some were pushed behind coffe cups. The dinner itself is pretty small. There are eight 2-person tables, and six 4-person booths in the main room, and a diner counter with about 8 seats along the back. Went in on a Friday morning and it wasn’t too crowded and waited a LONG time to finally be acknowledged by someone—an older lady finally came towards me and pointed at one of the smaller booths and since there were several larger booths available, I asked her if we could sit in one of them and she rolled her eyes and said “whatever” and turned around and walked away. Wow, nice greeting! Granted, the food is pretty good, but there are too many places to eat in this area to subject yourself to that kind of rudeness.
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Billy’s Diner. My boyfriend and I drove a half hour to try them out and were definitely not disappointed. I got the “Florentine” special and it was to die for. We also got the “Cannoli Tower” to split; Simply decadent and a must try if you’re craving something sweet. Everything was delicious, service was great, we sat outside and dined on a gorgeous day. We’ll no doubt be back next time we’re in town!
No matter what you get here, the food will always be top notch. There are options for everyone, including gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan. Service is always excellent! Lots of different coffee options, though even the fresh brewed black coffee is superb!
