I called here on a Friday evening to see if they had a table available. I was told that they had a table for 7:30. Since we were hungry and that was a couple hours away we decided to try somewhere else. As we were getting ready to leave our house my phone rang and it was a very nice lady from the restaurant (I guess they have call display?) Anyways, she said that a table just opened up and that she would hold it for us if we came right away. This was a pleasant surprise as we have been wanting to try the food here for quite sometime. Upon arrival I was greeted by name and promptly seated at our table. The décor is very nice and reminds us of our travels through Europe. All the food we had wa...

We enjoy Swiss cuisine and this small restaurant in Sidney was a real find. We arrived for a 5.30 dinner and they do have early sittings. Inside, the interior was decked out in paintings, cow bells and carvings which gave the restaurant an authentic European feel. Even our waiter Helmun was distinctly German. We had a lovely meal here. For entrée we had Vancouver Island Crab cakes with salad and cream of chicken and asparagus soup. For mains we both had Zurich style veal sautéed in mushrooms and cream, potato rosti and seasonal vegetables. Where do you start? The vegies were plain broccoli and cauliflower but cooked perfectly. The rosti was flavoursome and the veal soft. Overall it was a fan...

We have been eating here everyine we're in Sidney, although the original owners have sold seven years ago or so.Impeccable service in a quaint, cozy little bistro serving fabulously prepared european meals. Perfect martini and the great german beers to accompany are served generously. We started with a potato pancake and escargot. YummmChicken cordon bleu is tender and flavorful with such richness it melts in your mouth. The authentic veal shnitzel dinner is the best anywhere served with spatzil, red cabbage and the mushroom sauce is pure heaven. Thank you for the best meal we enjoyed in Canada.

Sidney BC has one great restaurant on the main drive at Bistro Suisse. Actually it was one of the best meals served us after dining at many island eateries and resorts on this BC Ferry Vacation. Clean, comfortable with professional service. Our choices of the Quiche du jour and the Schnitzel were perfectly executed. It's so nice to be taken care of by a caring staff. The whole experience was delightful. Let your next Sidney dining out adventure start here at the Bistro Suisse and chances are you'll return again and again. Book a table now

Swiss cuisine seems to take the best from Germany and France. The entrees were well prepared and very rich and delicious. They have a dessert to die for: called Swiss Meringue or something like that. Meringue, whipped cream, and ice cream. Even the most health conscious people in our group finished the whole thing -- and it is huge.

We had been here before , so we were not surprised with how good everything was , all around . New management in the fall doesn't seem to have changed anything . We had the penultimate Swiss Weiner Schnitzel , wit mushroom sauce on the side . Exquisite . Nice folk , nice feeling , nice tablecloths and napkins ! A great evening .

Swiss food hence the name. Schnitzel etc. and very good food all round. Run by a very professional owner / manager. Small restaurant in downtown Sidney. It's hard to find good Swiss / German food but this place really does a great job. Book a table now

Excellent service and great food. Veal Schnitzel w/Rosti, red cabbage and sauteed veggies was really good. Haven't had schnitzel this good since we lived in Germany! Altogether a great meal!
