Block House Winterhude

Don't get me wrong, I've been in Hamburg and in Germany many times and I'm used to the level that locals consider service. But this visit to Block House showed how absent can even the basic level of service be. The waiter had hard times...to bring us more sauce which we asked for three times and eventually waited for almost twenty minutes. The place was full so that is somewhat understandable, but once the dinner plates were carried off from the table we seemed to be invisible. We would have wanted to have coffee and avecs, but the staff just ignored us. We ended up sitting in our booth for an hour and trying to catch the waiters attention. I tried Block House in Munich a couple of years ago and was really disappointed. This one is supposedly the first one in the chain but does not fare much better. The food is average at best and in my case a sorry thing to...look at. The restaurant interior is ok and the staff were friendly. For a quick business lunch not bad, but I have the feeling there are better options in the area.

I used to eat there with my parents when i was a child and have great memories.i returned but this time with my family and enjoyed every second! The place hardly changed. The food was really good and i really hope to be able to...return again in the future!

I like the Block House chain. You know what you get and it is good. Always. This Block house is located and a bit hidden in Winterhude. Staff is very friendly and also know how to deal with small children. Recommended.

Steak very well made, side dishes also great. Nice atmosphere, little pricy. Beer was fresh and great! I recommend to anyone to try.
