I recently visited Blue Dolphin and had a mixed dining experience. The meal started on a high note with the appetizers. The Crab Bombs, in particular, were absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked.Our waitress provided excellent service throughout our meal, attentive without being overbearing, and very courteous.However, the sides were a major disappointment. The fries had a poor texture and tasted as if they had been fried early that morning, lacking any freshness. I went yesterday, during happy hour, which is from 3-7pm. There is no more half off happy hour menu. I ordered the crab balls and salmon balls. Both were good. However, my Mai Tai was not. I was also disappointed that the hot rolls were not the same. These were doughy and definitely did not have any honey in them. I also had to ask for them. In the past, they were given upon sitting down. The bar maids were nice, but I had to flag them down after I ordered. They did not check-in regularly to see if I wanted anything else, and the place was not crowded. The crowd was very mature, and they were regulars, which was not how it was when I visited some years ago.
I will never return to this restaurant. There was only one competent employee, a woman with black hair and glasses; the others seemed completely clueless or indifferent. It felt like there was no one in charge. The place could really use some updating unless the dated 80s decor is intentional. We waited 20 minutes just for someone to take our drink and appetizer order, and then another 20 minutes to receive our drinks—without any appetizers. We ended up leaving and going to O’Leary’s instead, which I highly recommend.
This was my 1st visit and most certainly will not be my last. The food was definitely worth the price. The appetizer was enough for the entire party of three with leftovers. The entrees were also very generous portiins and will serve you for at least a meal or two. The service, courtesy of Andrew, was 'on point ', he met all of our needs, courteously, promptly and with a pleasant demeanor. Looking forwrd to many more visits.

This was the worst seafood that I have experienced here at Blue Dolphin. Everything was baked with so much breading it was difficult to taste any seafood. Crab ball-breading, Shrimp Balls -breading. Stuffed rockfish had more bread than fish. The drinks...very strong without flavor. Customer service average.....Spend your hard worked money somewhere else. Very disappointing.
Great customer service and they are fast. The portions are really big, so mindful when ordering. The drink is delicious and can be strong. It can be quickly overcrowded, but the only one is the pages type have no season. Everything else is amazing.
Service here was awesome from the servers to the food service. It was fast and nice. We celebrated our 17 year wedding anniversary. 1st time here and will be coming back great place for a date night
Best fried scallops I've ever had. They would practically melt in your mouth. Service was 5 star too. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and thanked me for my military service.

Sad to say: Blue Dolphin is on the decline. Prior to the pandemic , it was bustling with patrons and good service.
The food was good but not as good as past visits. Cindy gives excellent service.
